Excerpt:
I bang on his door and look around. No lights on in the houses on the street. His car is in the driveway, so I know he’s home. I mean, it’s the middle of the night, so where else would he be?
I bang again. If he’s sleeping, which I can’t imagine how he could through that noise, he can just wake up and deal with me. I may sound irrational right now, but damn it, a girl needs to sleep.
Finally, he yanks the door open and glares at me with shining hazel eyes.
“What is that noise?” I demand.
“You. You are the noise.” His chest is heaving. His naked, slightly hairy, very sexy chest. Not to mention, his light brown hair is a mess, and his chin is stubbled, and his tattoos are just…yum.
“There’s a chirping,” I insist, trying to ignore the fact that he’s only wearing short boxer briefs. The kind that clings to a man’s ass and shows off his thighs.
And, you know, other things. Like the generously sized dick outlined in the cotton.
Holy hell.
“I don’t hear anything.”
I scowl and pause, listening. Sure enough, it’s gone.
“Come on.” I grab his hand and pull him behind me. I can hear the door shut. “You have to hear this.”
“It’s two in the fucking morning,” he says but doesn’t pull away from the grip I have on his wrist. “Can’t this wait?”
“No, because I can’t sleep.” I pull him into my house and shut the door, then hold my hand up. “Stop. Listen.”
Chirp.
“See!” I push my finger into his firm chest, and then back up a step so I’m not standing so close to his sexiness. Because I seriously want to attack him.
“So change the battery in the smoke detector.” He shrugs and turns to leave, but I run in front of him and block the door.
“I’ve looked for it everywhere, Wyatt. It’s not in this house.”
He frowns. “Well, it’s not at my house.”
“Please, help me.” I bite my lower lip and watch as he pushes his hand through his already messy hair and feel my nether regions immediately sit up and take notice.
“Can you put clothes on?”
“I’m wearing clothes.” I roll my eyes and lead him through the living area, the kitchen, and out to the backyard. “Where is the chirping coming from?”
“You don’t have a robe you could put on?”
I turn to frown at him. “You’re only wearing underwear.”
“Yeah, because it was the only thing I had time to pull on when you were banging my door in.”

Meet Kristen:
Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.
During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.
Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

About FIGHTING FOR EVERYTHING (Warrior Fight Club #1, 5/22/18):

Loving her is the biggest fight of his life…

Home from the Marines, Noah Cortez has a secret he doesn’t want his oldest friend, Kristina Moore, to know. It kills him to push her away, especially when he’s noticing just how sexy and confident she’s become in his absence. But, angry and full of fight, he’s not the same man anymore either. Which is why Warrior Fight Club sounds so good.

Kristina loves teaching, but she wants more out of life. She wants Noah—the boy she’s crushed on and waited for. Except Noah is all man now—in ways both oh so good and troubling, too. Still, she wants who he’s become—every war-hardened inch. And when they finally stop fighting their attraction, it’s everything Kristina never dared hope for.

But Noah is secretly spiraling, and when he lashes out, it threatens what he and Kristina have found. The brotherhood of the fight club helps him confront his demons, but only Noah can convince the woman he loves that he’s finally ready to fight for everything.

“The always amazing Kaye is kicking off a terrific new contemporary romance series that centers around a wounded warrior’s fight club. Kaye does a beautiful job exploring the fallout from war and PTSD as various characters struggle to cope in their own ways. The love story between Noah Cortez and his childhood friend Kristina Moore is both compelling and touching, for the obstacles in their way loom large. A truly memorable read!” ~ RT Book Reviews

EXCERPT:  "Noah, are you down here?" Kristina called from the top of the basement steps. Despite the lack of response, she continued down and crossed the room to the mostly closed door in the back corner--Noah's bedroom since he'd returned just before last Christmas. God, Kristina had thought she'd received the best Christmas present ever--Noah, home from Iraq, safe and sound. Well, mostly sound, anyway. An IED blast had taken the hearing and most of his vision on his left side, and he'd struggled with bad migraines and equilibrium problems when he'd first returned. But he was home and he was alive, and having him back again had made it feel like she could finally breathe after years of knowing he was in danger every second of every day. She knocked softly. "Hey Noah, it's me." All she heard was a long exhale of breath, but it was enough. Why hadn't he answered her? Her stomach clenched as she pushed open the door far enough to see Noah standing in the dark doorway to his bathroom, his back against the door jamb, his arms crossed, and his head hanging on his big shoulders. She didn't need to ask if he was okay, because he was radiating not okay loud and clear. Kristina walked right up to him. "What's going on?" she asked. Dim light from the rec room filtered over him, allowing her to just make out the tight clench of his square jaw, the narrowed cast of his dark brown eyes, the harsh set of his beautiful mouth. Wait. What? Where had that little observation come from? Noah shook his head, forcing Kristina to drop the ridiculous line of thought. She stepped closer so that she could look more directly into his eyes. "Come on, Noah. It's me." She ached for him to open up, but what she noticed even more was the low buzz rushing through her body. From how close she stood to all his taut hardness. It wasn't like she was just noticing that Noah was hot, like, dayum hot, but nearly five years in the Marines had matured him and built hard muscle that hadn't been there before. And clearly her body was just noticing, probably because they hadn't had the chance to spend much time together since he'd gotten back. "Kristina," he said, his voice so low it was nearly a whisper, or a plea. He leaned his forehead against hers. It was such a sweet, needful gesture that Kristina's chest seized. "First, I'm hugging you. Then we're talking, buddy," she said, wrapping her arms around his big shoulders and planting her cheek against his chest. The embrace wasn't unusual-they'd always been affectionate with each other. She'd lay against him while they watched a movie or he'd sling an arm over her shoulders while they were out together. When things were bad with her dad, he'd hold her when she finally gave into her grief about it and cried. That's how they'd always been. He embraced her right back and leaned his face against her hair. After a long moment, Kristina pulled away-- Noah wouldn't let her go. His grip on her tightened, and he held her fast against him. Was he breathing faster? Was he trembling? Against her belly, he hardened. Kristina's breath caught in her throat. Noah was aroused...by her? Or just, like, in her general vicinity? Or...? She swallowed hard as her thoughts flew. As they stood there, suspended in the dark, stolen moment, the air around them flashed hot and closed in, narrowing the world to all the places their bodies touched. His erection grew, pressing against her with more insistence. Heat bloomed over her skin everywhere and she held herself perfectly still. Because this was different. This was not friendly. This was more. A strange tension wrapped around them, and it scared and attracted Kristina in equal measure. She shuddered out a breath as her body came to life against his. Her breathing quickened, her nipples peaked, her core clenched. Noah made a noise in the back of his throat like a moan, and his arms tightened around her, pulling their bodies totally flush. Kristina's breath caught at the hard press of his body and at the shocking arousal it unleashed in her. This is Noah. This is Noah. This is Noah. But it didn't seem to matter to her body. The soft cotton of her dress became heavy and irritating against her skin, and all she wanted was for it to be off. So he could be all over her. This sudden, intoxicating need was brand new to her-in general and certainly with Noah. She wasn't a virgin, but she'd never felt with another man the kind of desire rocketing through her just then. And all they'd done was touch. Why was this happening? Her hips shifted without her meaning to do it, and it made her belly grind against all that hardness. Noah hissed in her ear. His fingertips dug into her back...and then wandered, one hand pressing low against her hip, one skimming up her neck into her hair. Holding her tight. Bringing her closer. She was half sure she was imagining that they were locked inside this raging bubble of attraction, except that his heart thundered beneath where her head rested, his breathing had gone rough, and his skin felt every bit as feverish as hers. She had to stop this...whatever this was. Tilting her head back, the words were on the tip of her tongue. Her eyes locked with his, and even in the dimness she could see that they were blazing hot and almost predatory in their directness. It stole her capacity to speak, because she was unequivocally sure he'd never looked at her like that. Need roared off of him and through her, making her heart beat like a bass drum. Kristina swallowed hard. What would she do if he kissed her? One kissing experiment aside, she'd never had to ask that in regard to him. Another question followed close behind: what would she do if he didn't?

About the Author
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

About the Author
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

Straight Up Love by Lexi Ryan Published: May 08, 2018 Genre: Contemporary Romance
straight_amazon.jpg
Synopsis:
From New York Times bestselling author Lexi Ryan comes a sexy new standalone romance about a woman who’d do anything to have a baby and the man who’d do anything to have her…
For my 30th birthday, I’m giving myself the one thing I want most: a baby. Sure, this would be easier if I had a husband—or even a boyfriend—but I refuse to be thwarted by minor details.
When I drunkenly confess my plans to my friends, they convince me to ask Jake Jackson for help. Jake, the best friend who’s been there for me through thick and thin. Jake, who also happens to be smart, funny, ridiculously good looking, and the winner of all the genetic lotteries.
So when Jake takes me up on my request—with the stipulation that we get the job done the old-fashioned way—I’d be a fool to decline.
The only problem? I don’t know if I can separate sex from all the things I feel for this amazing man. If I can’t keep my heart under lock and key, I risk losing the relationship I need the most.
Jake has his own reasons for granting my baby wish. But when I discover his secrets, it could mean the end of us. I have to choose—run or stay and fight for love.
Fall for the boys of Jackson Harbor in Lexi Ryan’s sexy new contemporary romance series. These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

Review:
5* read
This is book two in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series but can be read as a standalone. When I read the first book in this series I completly fell in love with Jackson family and I have to admit I wasn't sure if any other book in the series could live up to The wrong kind of love which is book one in this series. I just fell in love with the first book and I didn't think any others could live up to the hype in my mind that I had of it. I'm glad to say I was wrong and I again fell in love with another Jackson brother and their story.
This is Ava and Jake's story who you have briefly met in the previous book. Ava wants to be a mum and for her 30th birthday so she decides to give herself a gift, the one thing she wants more then anything, a baby. She did try when she was married and wasn't able to conceive then so she feels like she really needs to start again now. Even though she's divorced and doesnt have a husband/boyfriend she decides she will do it alone and starts looking into the idea of sperm donors. When she drunkenly tells her friends of her plan and also that she's worried about not knowing if the baby would inherit any weird rubber glove fetish from the sperm donar or if he's crazy and she's putting crazy sperm in her, her friends come up with the idea of Ava going to her best friend Jake.
I do enjoy a friends to lovers romance read. The whole forbidden side of not wanting to ruin a friendship yet feeling so much more for someone is what always makes this genre of romance interesting for me. Ava and Jake are the perfect example of a great friends to lovers romance. You instanly connected to them as characters. I did in the first book when you caught glimpses of their characters and I knew I wanted to know more about them. You feel every emotion, especially to do with Ava and what she's been/going through. You can't help but fall in love with them and their rollercoaster of a story. It was just a great read pact full of everything I love in a romance book, I didn't want it to end.

I really can't wait for the next book and the next Jackson's story.

Excerpt:
Ava’s crawling back down the bed and pulling the covers over her head. “Can we talk about this?” I ask. “No,” she says, her voice muffled. I cross the room and pull the blanket off her head. I know she’s hungover, but I can’t just walk away from this conversation. I barely slept last night, freaking torn up about her pregnancy and all its implications, and now she’s telling me she’s not pregnant. She just wants to be, and she wants my help. What the fuck does that mean? “Talk.” I fold my arms across my chest. “I want a family, and I’m sick of waiting for Mr. Right to come along, so I’m going to do it on my own.” “And you want my help?” Hell. I’m trying really hard not to jump to conclusions here. Emphasis on hard. “Yeah. I mean, no. I mean . . .” She takes a deep breath. “It sounded like a good idea last night.” Doing baby-making things with Ava sounds like a good idea to me every minute of every hour of every damn day, but I’m quite aware that doing that with me doesn’t cross her mind nearly as often. Okay, or ever. “Last night, when you asked for my help, you meant you wanted me to get you pregnant?” She scowls. “Are you being dense on purpose?” “I promise I’m not.” But if ever there was a conversation where I’m going to need things spelled out for me, this is it. “I just want to make sure I understand.” She presses her palm to her forehead. “I just wanted you to jack off in a cup and hand it to me. Not the weird way.” Right. Because that wouldn’t be weird. “I’m sorry.” I hold up a finger. “Give me a sec.” I walk around the room, scanning the ceiling and the corners. I check behind the lamp and crack the closet to look in there. “What are you doing, Jake?” I spin on her. “I’m looking for the camera—the one you planted before you Punk’d me. Is that show even still a thing? Because I’m sure I’m being Punk’d right now.”

Title: Bad Intentions
Series: Bad Love #2
Author: Charleigh Rose
Genre: NA/Contemorary Romance
Release Date: April 30, 2018
Lo
Moving to River’s Edge was supposed to be a fresh start.
Away from chaos.
Away from bad influences and worse relationships.
All I wanted was to give my little brother more of a chance than I ever had.
It should’ve been simple.
I didn’t count on my transgressions following me.
And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare.
Tall, tortured, and tattooed.
A Lost Boy through and through.
Falling for someone like him was asking for heartache.
But I was a sucker for punishment.
Dare
I had a routine.
Eat, work, sleep, repeat, only ever doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances.
I kept my circle small and my guard high.
I spent years making sure I didn’t repeat the mistakes of my past, forming an impenetrable layer of ice around my heart.
Then Logan showed up in my town, in my tattoo shop, testing my patience along with my self-control.
She was fire and I was ice.
I should’ve stayed away.
But I had been cold for far too long.

 5* read.
I actually first come across this author when I happened to come across her first book in this series Bad Habit. Straight away reading that book I fell in love with this authors writing style and the characters and knew I'd come across one of my new favourite authors.
This is book 2 in the Bad Love series but can be read as a standalone. This is Dare and Lo's (Logan's) story. Both have their own problems, mainly to do with their upbringing's. Dare is very closed off and standoffish, he doesn't let anyone due to his past. But then Lo turns up and kind of just fits into his life even though he fights it. Lo's struggling in her own way, bringing up her brother and dealing with an ex, aswell as family trouble so in a way she's the perfect fit for Dare. Dare and Lo together were scorching, the chemistry could be felt sizzling off the page. I also loved that Dare was a tattoo artist, I'm going through an obsession at the minute of the main male lead been a tattoo artist (don't ask me why cause I have no idea), so that made Dare and his brooding attitude even more appealing to me. Together they were great and I loved seeing how their dynamic with each other developed. Lo was a great strong female lead who had been through hell but didn't let that stop her. We definatly need more characters like Lo in the book world.
I loved everything about this book, including the supporting characters who I hope all get their own book eventually. I can't wait for the next book Yard Sale which you see a little teaser of at the end and will be out sometime in May. I do love teasers but it does make me really impatient as I always end up wanting the book like right now, luckily May's not to far away so I will have to find some patience. Must read, get your copy now you won't be disappointed. And if you haven't read book one Bad Habit then go buy that to, you won't regret it and you to will become addicted to this authors work.
