Surprisingly for me this is now actually my favourite book of this author's. I say surprisingly because there's been a couple of other books by this author that I didn't think could be topped, that is until I read Canary and instantly fell in love with it. This is a mafia/cartel enemies to lovers standalone and is Tijan's most violet dark work yet (so you've been warned). 

I'm not going to say much about the book as it really needs to be read with no spoilers or info at all (apart from what's wrote the blurb obviously). It was pact full of drama and emotion. You keep find yourself not knowing what's going on and being dragged on this emotional rollercoaster of emotions with the characters. From first starting this book I didn't actually expect to love the characters as much as I did. However that quickly changed and I found myself entrapped by their story and boy what a story it is.

I couldn't put it down, an addictive dark read that will leave you devouring each page. If you like these type of dark reads then this is a must buy.

“I…” I didn’t even know. I couldn’t explain what I didn’t know. “Ask me about Jake in a different way.”
“There is no other way.”
“You know there is! Ask it in a different way.” I shoved up to my feet. This was the fight here.
I was sick of the killing.
I could not handle one more body, especially not someone I knew.
My chest heaved. “Ask it in a different way.”
I liked Jake. I was hurt by what he said, but he wasn’t on my list anymore.
I frowned. “What happened with Cavers?”
“None of your business!” he erupted, his hands flying in the air, but he was moving farther away from me. His back hit the wall, and he let me see him, how haunted he was, how stricken. He let it all out for me to see and read, though I wasn’t sure he knew it. “I don’t run my decisions through some pussy I like plowing.”
Okay, now I was mad.
“Take that back,” I said quietly.
He swore, low and long. Then he moved, flipping a chair into the wall. It impaled there, and the wall held it. It looked like an abstract piece of art.

“No!” He was across the room and in my face in the next second. I braced myself, but he didn’t touch me.
He stopped just short of it, his breath in my cheek, his eyes taking me in, scanning my face.
He was panicking.
I saw it now, lurking there.
Good! That filled me with satisfaction.
My chest started pounding.
No, that was my heart.
It was thumping in my chest, getting stronger, faster—a steady and powerful beat now. I could feel it all the way to my toes—in my fingers, my neck. His eyes lingered on my lips.
He couldn’t look away.
Stark hunger flashed in his eyes, and he raised a hand, holding it in the air.
It curved gently, as if he wanted to touch my neck, or the side of my face.
But he didn’t move. He just held it there, a few inches from my skin.
His eyes lifted to mine. “You bitch.”
My heart still pounded, trying to reach him. “You’re a murdering asshole,” I whispered back, seething.
“What?”he sneered. “You want to fuck now? Forget you put a fucking gun to your head?”
“Don’t kill Jake.”
He pressed into me, his eyes wild, on the edge of control. “Why?” His breath was hot on me. He bent down, his eyes glittering now.
Then he found his control. He rested one hand against the wall, next to my head. The other found my hip and slid up, moving under my shirt, raising it.
God. I almost moaned.
Wetness flooded me, and I started to throb.
I wanted him.
So fucking bad.
He bent and his lips grazed over mine, my cheeks, my chin. Tingles raced through me.
Jesus.
I wanted him deep inside of me. I shifted, pressing against him, and both of us groaned from the contact.
I began moving, a slow grind, and he was quiet, grinding back.
This was different from the other times.

The Queen of Mafia romance does it again. I actually can't put into words how much I adore this authors work, especially her Mafia romance books. 

This book is a completely different type of Mafia book, and different to all of this authors other books. You'll find yourself throughout this story going  wait WTF did I just read. I literally found myself sitting looking at my kindle numerous times while my brain tried to  process everything, and I still ended up going WTF is going on here.

Let me tell you something, I was not prepared for Maksim. I'm keeping this review completely spoiler free so I won't say much about the actual story. What I will say is Maksim will grab you and drag you into his book. His tortured character, his fierce love for Izzy and the way he was willing to sacrifice it all for her made me fall in love with his character. Izzy you really felt for her and Maksim and just wanted them to be together. Their emotional journey will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions that will stay with you way after you've finished this book.

 Rachel Van Dyken is an amazing writer, she writes probably the best Mafia books out there for me. I'm addicted to her work and can't wait to read more. Bring on the next one.

Commotion from across the field catches my eye. Two of the riders seem to be at odds with each other. The hand on hip, head tip, nose-to-nose business gives me reason to believe there’s some kind of disagreement happening.
“That doesn’t look very friendly.” I nod in their direction.
“Maybe the horses need a time-out,” Harley mutters.
I give her the side-eye, and she fights a smirk.
“Uh-oh, we have hand and hobbyhorse flailing,” London says, pulling my attention back to the field. The argument seems to be heating up, not cooling down.
“You need to deal with that.” London gives my shoulder a shove. She’s amazing with finances and she’s great at connecting me with the right vendors, but dealing with conflict is not her strong suit.
“Not in the mood to mediate stuffed horses?” I drop my bag on the ground beside Harley’s feet and briskly cross the field as the argument escalates to yelling. I’m about twenty feet away when one of the men hauls off and whacks the other one with his hobbyhorse.
“Whoa! Whoa! Gentlemen! Time-out. That’s not very sportsmanlike conduct!” I call.
My admonishment goes unheeded, and the two men begin dueling with their hobbyhorses. The bigger of the two jabs the other man in the stomach and snatches his hobbyhorse when he loses his grip on it.
“Gentlemen! Please!” I shout, but it’s hard to be heard over their yelling and the newly formed crowd of hobbyhorse enthusiasts who have gathered and are now heckling the fighters.
Two other men toss their hobbyhorses to the hobbyhorse-less man with shouts of “Kick his ass!”
And here I thought this was a chill sport. Apparently I’m very, very wrong.
The hobbyhorsers face off again, each one holding a broom horse between their legs and another like . . . a sword, maybe? It reminds me of medieval jousting. Especially when they start stomping their feet, pawing at the ground, and prancing in place. I know things are about to escalate when they shake their heads back and forth, braying loudly and breathing out through their noses in a hardy snort.
Then they run toward each other, while yelling. Even if they’re beating on each other with stuffed horse heads, I’m not interested in anyone ending up with a concussion.
I jump in between them before they collide, which I realize a second too late puts me in a very perilous position. However, the man on my right swerves at the last second and ends up crashing into the trough, toppling it and at least half a dozen of the “feeding” hobbyhorses. The other man skids to a stop mere inches from me, loses his balance, and falls backwards onto the ground. It rained yesterday, so while it’s sunny and dry now, the ground is still soft and mucky. And he happens to land in a seriously squishy pile of muddy grass.
He also manages to hit himself in the family jewels with the hobbyhorse. He rolls onto his side, clutching the muddy horsehead and his junk. It’s quite the spectacle. Before it turns into absolute mayhem, I grab the megaphone from the group MC and shout, “Whoa, Nelly!” like an idiot.
However, it does the trick. Every single one of them freezes. “Rider number seventeen and twenty-three, you are disqualified from this round for roughhousing and inappropriate use of your hobbyhorse!” I’m totally making this up on the fly, but someone needs to get these guys under control, and they don’t seem to be able to manage it on their own.
The guy who nut slapped himself—number twenty-three—picks himself up off the ground and hobbles gingerly over to the bench, which is now assigned to disqualified hobbyhorsers. Number seventeen throws himself down on the other end with a huff.
I lower the megaphone and cross my arms. “This is supposed to be about team building and sharing something you’re passionate about. If you want to joust, I suggest you either join a club or interview for a position at Medieval Times.”

One of my favourite mc authors I couldn't wait to get stuck into this book. 

Tartlet is the fourth book in this fun sexy biker series. It can be read as a standalone although I'd advise to read at least book three (Pop Goes the Biker) first to better understand this book.

This is Gabby and Remy's story and boy is it an addictive read, I couldn't put it down. Gabby really goes through so many emotions and starts to question everything. I loved the banter between her and Remy and the chemistry was hot.

Love this author, love this series and I really can't wait for the next addictive book by this author. Hopefully we don't have to wait to long as I'm already getting withdrawals.

I love discovering a new author that has slipped through my fingers. This is actually my first book by this author and after reading this I can't wait to go back and buy some of her other books to get hooked on aswell.

This is Dominic and Faith's story. Dominic is your typical bad boy that you can't help but want. The banter between these two made this book the 5 stars for me. Mixed in with the added angst and sexual tension you couldn't help but be hooked to their story. They both go on such a rollercoaster of emotions and because your so invested in their story you feel every emotion to. I enjoyed seeing all the supporting characters and seeing how they interacted in their story.

Loved this book and will definatly be going back to read more from this author.

This is the third book in the College Years series. This book is Caleb and Gracie’s story and my favourite in this series.

In past books I wasn't sure I was going to like Caleb's story, just by the way he was acting, he made it easy to hate him. I couldn't have been more wrong though. Caleb's and Gracie's connection was pure fire. It was steamy and you could feel the sexual chemistry coming off the pages. This really felt like a coming of age story for Caleb an Gracie, and I loved every last page.
