When bad weather closes the airport, free-spirited Jules Bloom finds herself stuck with the admittedly hot but total suit Dexter Elliott. One night and one large pitcher of “Vegas Sunrise” later, Jules wakes up in a hotel bed with a vicious hangover…wearing nothing but a wedding ring.

Determined not to ruin his brother's wedding, Dexter strikes a deal with the frustratingly gorgeous Jules to continue their quickie marriage through the weekend. Only she keeps getting under his skin in unexpected ways.

Jules has her own reasons for staying married to Dex but they seem less important with each exaggerated touch and staged kiss. But one marriage, one major secret, and two complete opposites don’t add up to a happily ever after…

Book 3 in the Sugar City series, can be read as a stand alone.

EXCERPT
Here's your excerpt. Thank you!
What have you been telling people?” Dexter asked as soon as they were behind the rosebushes.
“Can you be more specific?” Jules said.
“Things about me…what we do.”
“Oh. That.” She bit her lip. “I was doing what you said, making our story embarrassing to an audience.”
He crossed his arms. “By telling my mother you threw yourself at me.”
“It makes a more interesting story. Everyone’s tired of hearing how you’re a big bad lady-killer. I thought you’d be grateful.”
“I’m not. No wife of mine should be throwing herself at anyone.”
“Not even her husband?”
He frowned and pursed his lips, looking deep in thought. “I don’t like it. You doing a pole dance while covered in strategically placed Hershey’s Kisses?”
“Hey, I did not add that detail.” She toyed with her bracelets. “But I like it. And I was trying to be inappropriately personal.”
“Well, stop,” he growled, but then dipped his chin and laughed.

REVIEW
I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
4* read.
This is the second book in The Rub Down series but can be read as a standalone. This is Danny and Elle's story. They've been friends for years and at their lowest points they both fall in love with the other, nor realizing the other feels the same to. Will they both wake up and see whats in front of them or will they not want to ruin their friendship by pushing for more? You'll have to read it to find out.
This was a really emotional rollercoaster of a read that had many ups and downs and i'm looking forward to the others in this series.
As we raced to the hotel, my heart pumped as fast as my legs. The cold air provided little relief for the heat rushing through my body. Inside the lift, Danny pinned me against the back wall. His hands braced my face, and his erection dug into my hip.
“There’s nothing in this world I want more than to sink deep inside you and finally claim you as mine.”
Before I could respond, he pecked me on the cheek and moved as far away as possible. “Then why are you all the way over there?” I closed the space between us, stretched on my tip toes, and rubbed my nose across his cheek.
“There’s no way I’m taking you in an elevator with security cameras recording your first of millions of orgasms with me. Those are for me and me alone.”

REVIEW

3.5* read.
For me this was an enjoyable read filled with potential but i found it to be a bit all over in places and felt like i was working out  puzzle but missing a few pieces and it was also rushed in places. Saying that i still enjoyed and finished this story and it was a quick and fun read. The chemistry was good between Hemingway and Max and i enjoyed their journey i just wish there was more depth to it. I will read  future books from this author and look forward to seeing her writing progress.
“So what exactly happened between you two last night? Bec never came home.” Raising my eyebrow as I wait for an answer, everyone’s eyes snap over to where Becca is currently trying to put space between her and Jay. When I feel Max’s hands on my thighs, I look up at him.
“What?” I ask, trying to keep an innocent tone to my voice.
“That wasn’t very nice of you,” he says with a smirk. I can see the laughter dancing behind his eyes.
Looking back over to Jayden, since it appears neither of them are going to answer, I press on. “Looks like you moved Becca up your to-do list?” I try to keep a straight face, but it’s not easy, especially when I can hear Bodhi fighting back his laughter, and can feel Max’s chest shaking with silent laughter as he buries his face in my hair.
“Come on, Hem, you know that line was only for you.” Max stops laughing and his head shoots up. I’m a little afraid to turn around and see the look on his face, and from the satisfied look on Jayden’s face, I would guess that he successfully hit his mark.
“What do you mean that line is only for my sister?” Niki questions.
Unable to fight the laughter anymore, I tip my head back and let out a laugh from deep inside.
“The day I met Jay, he asked if I wanted to go somewhere and hangout.” Fighting back the laughter, I look over at Niki and Eli.
Shaking his head, Jay chuckles. “She said she was too busy to hang, so I look at her and deadpanned, ‘I was too, but I just moved you to the top of my to-do list.’ She slapped me.” This has all of the guys hooting in laughter. I look over at Jay, and he winks.

She swallows, and I watch with more curiosity than I should as her eyes flick to my mouth quickly before finding my gaze. “I should go touch up my makeup.”
It’s then that I realize how hard we’re both breathing, how close we’re standing. Dropping her hands, I shove my own back in my pockets and nod. “Okay. I’ll see you out there.”
Before I can think more about what the hell just happened, I turn on my heel and make my way toward the side stage exit.
“Adam?”
I pause, turning slowly, afraid she’ll tell me I was over the line. Afraid I’ll lose her, even though she’s not really mine to keep.
“Thanks. Really.” She smiles with just one side of her mouth, just for a moment, before backing into the bathroom and slowly closing the door.
“Anytime,” I reply to no one. And I know even though she didn’t hear it, she knows it’s true as much as I do. I’d be there for her no matter what.
I just can’t decide if that’s a good thing.
Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.

She used to be perky, fun, and full of life—everything I hated about girls and their bullshit exterior. People called her bubbly; I called her “fake-as-hell.”
The edgy, dark, lonely girl in front of me was not the Olivia Brennan I knew from high school—far from it, actually. I knew the story—the whole town knew the story, we witnessed it all. It happened in the blink of an eye and the girl we knew was gone.
But I refuse to watch it anymore—I can’t stand it. I’m going to fix it—fix her. It’s time I showed Olivia her way back…
Back to the girl she used to be.

REVIEW
I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
5* read.
I love this author so i couldn't wait for this new series and boy what a series it is. This story was completely heartbreaking in places and i felt every emotion that the characters did and went on such an emotional journey that after i finished this story it still stuck with me now. Olivia survived a accident but lost her four best friends in it. This made it hard for her to move on when she lost so much. Cameron is Olivia's roommates brother and also the boy from back home who use to bully her. He thought she was fake but he didn't know her at all so just made assumptions. What starts as a hate thing soon turns into more and i loved seeing how they developed together and how they grew as a couple and as people.
This book was different from this authors other books but it was so beautiful and wrote so well that you couldn't help fall in love with them. I cant wait for this authors next brilliant work.
"She really needs to get up. She's been in that bed for two weeks, Trish," my dad says to my mom. They're right outside my door again. I sigh softly.
"Leave her be, Greg. She's not ready yet."
"She's never going to be ready. No one's ever ready for what she has to face."
Mom sniffles and I know she's crying again. I'm so tired of hearing her cry. There's no reason for her to cry—not because of me. I lived.
I wish I could cry but I can't. I haven’t cried since I woke up in the hospital. I didn't cry from the pain of my fractured and broken bones. I didn't cry at the funeral when I stared down at the lifeless body of my soulmate—the body lying there was unfamiliar—not at all my Danny. I didn't cry while I struggled on crutches with a fractured rib over the uneven lawn, past all the weathered gravestones signifying just how final death really is.
I didn't cry when I lost it at the people—strangers—who didn't know my friends and my love by more than a passing hello stood there crying and carrying on. They didn't know their favorite color, their favorite food. They didn't know Danny chewed spearmint gum. They didn’t know Simon kept us laughing. They didn't know Cassidy was our support system. They didn't know Phil wasn't really as shallow as he led everyone to believe.
They. Just. Didn't. Know.
They didn't have a right to cry for people they didn't know—people who weren't good enough for them while they were alive.
And me? I just couldn't cry. I didn't even cry when my parents took me home and I stared at the corkboard filled with photos of me with my friends, me and the love of my life holding one another and laughing—a life that no longer exists. I stared at it for the hour I waited for the cemetery workers to cover the graves of those I love most. Then I went to them with my tequila.
My eyes are locked on that corkboard now and I can only stare mutely.
I'm numb.
I don't want to feel. I don't want to face a future alone, so I stay in bed and sleep. Sleep is the only friend I have left.
Sleep embraces me and holds me tight, blocking out the pain and grief that would otherwise fill my shattered heart. Sleep enfolds me in a cocoon of nothingness, and nothingness is what I crave.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin and still live here today with my two sons and puppy. (Though one day soon I hope to move to southern California!)

“The best part of being an author, to me, is being able to take the reader to that one place they long to go when they need to escape reality. Knowing I can do that, for even one reader, makes what I do worthwhile.” ~ Anne Mercier
