REVIEW
3* read.
I think that maybe I would have benefited from reading the other books in this series first. I was able to follow the story easy enough  I just think maybe I would have enjoyed it more reading the others first. Also personally for me the characters needed a bit more development to them but apart from that I still enjoyed this book and would read more.

REVIEW
5 massive star read.
This was a surprising big star rating read for me, when I first started it I never expected to be so entrapped in the story as I was. Reading this all in one sitting I could not put it down. It was full of emotion and a really unique journey between two people.
The first chapter I read I was really unsure about this story but I'm so glad I stuck with it. Carter and Kara were both hilarious and frustrating together and I have to admit Carter is defiantly a character I loved to hate. You felt like screaming at your kindle sometimes but that's what made this whole story so unique and engaging. Kara was a character I actually really related too and although I think some readers could find her annoying, I found her to be a really strong and relatable character.
This was the first time I've read anything by this author and I'm now really excited to go back and read some more of this authors work.

“Let me see how much you can bench-press.”

Carter shied away, his smirk brightening his cheeks. “Nah. I’m not dressed to lift weights in jeans and a polo.”

I thrust out my lower lip and batted my lashes at him. The wine eliminated my nervous inhibitions, making it easier to flirt. “Please? You don’t have to lift much. I just want to see it. I think it’s the sexiest thing in the world.”

His tongue swept across his bottom lip seconds before his perfect row of top teeth clamped onto it. The bristles of his beard shifted just below his mouth. My breathing slowed as my attention zeroed in on his actions, wondering what he tasted like. Wondering what it would feel like to have him bite me with those teeth.

A bomb could’ve gone off in the room and I wouldn’t have noticed.

“I’m not adding weight to the bar, so you’ll have to use your imagination.” He strutted over to the bench and straddled it before lowering himself into position. As his eyes locked on mine, he lifted one side of his mouth, and the entire room became stifling with the heat of my desire.

His thick fingers wrapped around the bar above him, and in one swift movement, he lifted it out of the resting grooves. He slowly lowered it to his chest, never taking his eyes off mine, and then raised it high above his head. Even without weight disks, it was sexy as hell. I could’ve watched him for hours, but my feet decided to take control and lead me to him. He continued the motions of working out effortlessly while tracking my movement.

Without the wine at dinner, I probably would’ve given him a compliment and then let him drive me home. But I did have wine. Three glasses—maybe it was four. So nothing prevented me from straddling the bench and climbing onto his lap. I sat there with my hands splayed across his tight abs and stared into his deep forest orbs, not once questioning myself why I’d done it. It had seemed like a good idea, so I went for it.

He dropped the bar back into the brackets, but he didn’t pull his hands away.

“They say if a woman sits on a man while he works out, it increases his testosterone, which leads to muscle growth and improves strength.” The confidence in my tone would’ve surprised me had I been sober. However, it seemed to have completely shocked him into silence while he continued to lie there and watch me. “I figured I’d help you out with that…not like you need more testosterone.”

One minute, his fingers were wrapped tightly around the Olympic bar above him. The next, his hands were gripping my hips so hard my bones ached. He tugged me forward a few inches until my pelvis lined up with his. The harsh movement caused me to topple forward a bit, and I had to hold myself up by his pecs to keep from completely falling into his hard body.

“If you want to measure the amount of testosterone in me…” he gritted out through tight lips and clenched teeth. “…then sit right here and feel my muscle grow.” It was obvious his control was in danger of slipping away.

The sweltering air around us constricted my windpipe and left behind a sheen of perspiration on my chest. It polluted my lungs until my breaths were strained and thick, clogged with lust and heady desire. Had there not been a fire kindling between my legs, I might’ve felt the effects of his words brighten my cheeks and scorch the edges of my ears.

Every muscle in my body froze—I couldn’t move. But I didn’t need to, because he used his hold on me to do it himself. His fingertips dug into the flaming ball of nerve endings at the cusp of my back, just before the rise of my ass. He pressed his thumbs into the hollow spaces above my hips as he slowly rocked me against him. Every push, every pull, added friction to my clit through my jeans and had me growing wetter.

Between the sensations of my nerves misfiring and the pressure building low in my abdomen, I dropped my head forward and released a rumbling moan. My lips parted and a wave of pleasure masked in air escaped. I hadn’t realized my eyelids had fallen closed until my posture changed without warning.

My hands gripped his shirt, but instead of leaning over him, I now sat in an upright position with his face close to mine. Humid air billowed against my cheek, turning my skin sticky and unbearably warm from his strained breaths. My fingers found their way to his shoulders where I held on for the ride he provided. No longer were his ministrations slow, but fast and hard. He didn’t just rocket my hips against his, he pushed his hips upward to add even more friction.

More power.

More pleasure.

REVIEW
3* read.
Unfortunately this wasn't the book for me. I felt myself been really confused and not understanding what was going on. It also seemed to dragged on in places and felt quite repetitive.
I don't want to say to much about this book as I feel other might enjoy it more going in with a clear open mind. While it wasn't the book for me I'm sure others will really enjoy it.

REVIEW
3.5* read.
A sweet story which was well wrote out to. For my own personal taste it was to sweet for me and I needed a bit more more that's my own personal preference, nothing to do with this authors writing.
This is Fallon and Jacks story. At first Fallon really annoyed me and I felt like she needed t get a backbone and stand up for herself more, but I did warm up to her eventually. As for Jack he just seemed a bit lacking in the personality department but together I really enjoyed their banter.
Good sweet festive read.

Excerpt

Holy Santa Claus! She got a good look at an easy smile and the light scruff of a sexy dark beard. He had deep brown eyes, too. So what if he was a little chunky around the middle? She could work with that. As he went through her small half of the duplex, opening closet doors, walking through her bedroom and checking the bathroom, Fallon couldn’t help but check him out. Because this off duty Santa, as Santas went, was sort of five-alarm-fire hot. He took off his hat to reveal a full head of chocolate brown wavy hair.

Her ovaries wept.

When he pulled off his red and white coat, he also pulled off his fat belly. “Sorry. This is hot.”

Oh boy. Yes, she would have to agree. She’d never in her life, except when she was about seven, been so attracted to Santa Claus. But now that the jacket was off she could see a trim, athletic physique under there. He’d worn a white long sleeved t-shirt under the jacket that seemed a half size too small, given the way his muscles strained at the fabric.

“Cleared,” he said and finally turned back to her. “You’re good to go.”

Fallon batted her eyelashes. “Thank you so much, officer…officer…”

“Jack Cooper, but just call me Jack. I’m not a cop anymore. As in permanently off-duty. By choice.”

“I’m Fallon McQueen.”

She might have thought him younger if she went by his lean and agile build, but a long look into his mocha eyes said otherwise. The eyes were edgy with small crinkled lines that led her to believe he’d lived a full and possibly dangerous life.

“So what are you going to do now, Santa Jack? Canvas the neighborhoods to rescue poor women like me?”

“Nah. First, ‘rescue’ poor women like you? Don’t think so. Without me here, pretty sure you would have shamed that burglar to death. Anyway, I’m headed off soon. Blowing this pop stand.”

“Where to?”

He shrugged. “Don’t know yet. Going to figure it out as I go.”

Sounded wonderfully odd to Fallon. She’d spent the past few years working two jobs. When an opportunity had come up to make serious money working in L.A. as a celebrity stylist two years ago, she’d made the move. Eventually she planned to have her own hair salon on Rodeo Drive, if she could ever find an affordable lease. But as a single mom, she couldn’t imagine what it would be like to let it all go. Crazy with a capital K, probably.

“You’re kidding, right?”

“Nope.”

This got to her. He was so incredibly assertive and confident even while stating the most ridiculous fact. Who started over at their age? She’d pegged him to be her age, mid-thirties. They were supposed to be elbow deep in their careers, moving up the ladder two or three rungs at a time. Kicking off the fools behind them so there might be more room at the top.

“Starting over,” Fallon said. “So you have no immediate plans?”

“That’s the idea.”

This guy seemed perfect. Her Christmas miracle. He was gorgeous, Alpha-protective, strong, obviously loved kids and sounded wide open. He had the dark hair and eyes she’d described to Mom. His name wasn’t Bud, either, but she could figure something out later. As an added bonus, when Ted laid eyes on this man, his balls would shrivel up inside him and die. Who cared what he did or didn’t do for a living? They could always make something up. All she’d told Mom was that her fake boyfriend had a ‘very important job.’ Mom would finally stop trying to fix her up with all her friend’s bachelor nephews. She’d have to agree that Fallon had done the right thing by holding out eight long years after Ted for the right man.

And Fallon would try oh-so-hard not to say, ‘I told you so.’

This deal had to be done just right, carefully and with the utmost finesse so she wouldn’t scare off this super-hot guy before he could agree to go to the destination wedding with her and pretend to be her boyfriend.

“How about some milk and cookies?”

REVIEW
4* read.
This was a slow starter for me and at first I struggled to get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. This is Flo and Nash's story although you do get buts of other people story aswell throughout this book which I enjoyed seeing. Some readers might not enjoy that part and think theres too many stories in one but for me it flowed really well and I liked getting glimpses into all the different characters.
A well wrote book with easily connectable characters. This was my first read on this author but will defiantly be reading more after this one.

Blurb

0.5 in The Kiss of Death Series. Prequel novella to Kill Me.

At thirteen years old I was sold, doomed to become a sex slave.

Nicholai Ivanov, boss of the Russian Bratva, gave me the ultimate gift. He saved me from a fate worse than death. He promised to make me strong, because only the strong survive, and the weak die, forgotten and inconsequential.

I now live in a world of blood and violence, where humanity itself is a weakness. My life is not a battle of bad and good, but bad and worse. This is kill or be killed, survival of the fittest.

Make me or break me?

REVIEW
4.5* read.

This is a very short story and a insight into Una as this is the prequel. You get to see how and what made Una became the person she is now. Its hard to write this review without giving to much away so I'll keep it short and sweet. In my opinion I don't know if I'd have read this book without reading the other one first as this is purely a look into Una's past and filled out Una's backstory for me. So in my opinion I would read the book after and before this novella as I feel it would be enjoyed and understood more.

I really can't wait until the next book in this series and to find out where else Una's story can go after the cliffhanger ending.

REVIEW
4* read.
A great short and sweet read. Max and Rory's relationship has been building for years so the speed in which their relationship developed was believable and didn't feel hurried or rushed. The only problem I had was the ending seemed a bit abrupt and I would have liked more to it so I'm really hoping they're featured more in the next book too.
This was a really sweet and quick read but enjoyable all the same and another small yet great jam packed edition to this series.
