When Scarlet Cooper takes a new job as a nanny, she assumes she’s going to work for the rich couple who hired her. But instead of pulling up to their million-dollar estate, she finds herself on the front porch of a humble farmhouse, looking into the eyes of dark and brooding single dad, Weston Dawson.
It’s bad enough that Weston doesn’t have a fortune to charm out of him, but he’s also a cop.  After marrying his high school sweetheart only to have her up and leave weeks after their baby was born, Weston has sworn off women for life. All that matters now is taking care of his son, Jackson.
If anyone can break down the tough exterior of the former soldier, it’s Scarlet. But just when she’s close to getting exactly what she wants, she’s faced with a whole new challenge, which just might be the biggest con she’s ever pulled: pretending she doesn’t love him.

Review

5* read.

I have loved this series from the very first book. Up until now Macey is a character I didn't like at all so I was a bit worried about her book thinking I could hate it, even more so when I found out who her mystery guy is. I don't want to say who it is as that will spoil it for you but I was definatly shocked and again didn't think I'd enjoy their story at all. Boy I'm glad I was wrong I fell in love with these two characters just as much as I did with the other's in this series which was actually a massive surprise. It was also great to see the other characters making an appearance again aswell as getting a deeper look into the mind of Macey. It ended up been one of my favourites in this series.

I'm so glad we got Macey's story and could understand more about her and the way she's been throughout this series. I can't wait for more from this author.

BLURB:

Landing a writing gig in Hollywood was just as difficult as becoming an actor, and something Claire Becker had learned the hard way.

Sure, she didn’t have to conform to ridiculous beauty standards and give up her love for raw cookie dough, but the sting of rejection burned all the same. The only things that kept her sane were her two amazing roommates and her guilty pleasure—writing fan-fiction.
Getting lost in her own world, she’d forget that she had yet to land her dream job, and instead spent time with her dream man—Nick Larsson. Well, at least in the literary sense. Too bad he wasn’t aware or an active participant—her fictional love life, outstanding.

Tall, good-looking and sexy beyond comprehension, Nick Larsson not only had a famous last name—and four equally smoldering brothers—but was talented beyond belief. A star on the rise with a critically acclaimed series, his body and face were what fantasy scripts—and dreams—were made of. Made for some pretty steamy writing opportunities too.

And yes, it was probably “wrong” for Claire to objectify him, but it wasn’t like anyone knew about it. Just her, and her two amazing, supportive roommates.
Or at least they were amazing and supportive, and bound to be missed after Claire killed them.

In a moment of unexplained insanity, one of them —or both, each as bad as the other—sent her latest installments to the man himself.

Cue panic of epic proportions.

All Claire needed to do was sneak into his apartment and retrieve the misappropriated story before Nick, or anyone else, read it and mistook her for a creepy stalker. Although, breaking and entering probably wouldn’t convince anyone to the contrary either.

Claire was going to get the best material of her life, or end up with a restraining order. Either way, the story was getting a hell of lot more interesting.

Review:
5* read.
I loved this series from book 1 I fell in love with the characters and writing style of this brilliant author. Every time a new book comes out I don't think its possible for me to love it as much as the last one, yet I always find myself doing just that.
This is screenwriter Claire's story and actor Nick Larsson. Claire's in a bit of a book slump writing wise apart from her fan fiction that she writes on the side about Nick (big actor and brother of hugely successful Eric who we've met previously). Now what happend when your best friend gives said fan fiction to the actual person you wrote it about? Well what happens is one of the most funny moments you'll read. I literally could not stop laughing and yet also cringing for poor Claire. Claire was a loveable lead character who was actually perfect for Nick. Their story is full of twists and turns and some really funny moments.
Claire and Nicks story is addictive and entrapping and you feel every emotion they feel. I loved their banter, the sexual chemistry, and just the characters in general. When I caught a glimpse of Nick in Eric's book he really caught my attention and I've been really looking forward to his story and I can say I was definatly not disappointed.
I love this author so much, please hurry up with you next book as I need my next fix.

BESTSERVEDCOLD-banner1live.jpg

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Which is a real problem when the attraction runs red-hot.

Best Served Cold, an all-new standalone romantic comedy from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Emma Hart is available now!

BESTSERVEDCOLD-cover4
Trust me. I know. The only reason I decided to renovate my family’s ice-cream store was to serve up a sundae full of revenge for my a-hole ex who opened an ice-cream store right next to mine.
It was supposed to be simple.
Renovate. Reopen. Put his peachy butt out of business.
Until he decided to get under my skin—and broke my toe.
Now, I’m stuck with Chase in my store every day, helping me renovate. But he’s also in my head, and I’m spending a little too much time up against his abs.
Not that it’s the worst place to be.
But it doesn’t change anything. I still hate him, and I’m still going to get my revenge.
Right?

Review:
5* read.
I love this authors work. Her writing is beyond brilliant it's addictive. The other reason though is her front covers. She's probably one of a few authors who I look forward to the cover reveal just as much as the actual book been published. They're always original, eyecatching, and just soooo damn pretty. I've said it before and I'll say it again I do judge a book by its cover. If I see the same picture over and over but on different books with nothing changed about it I tend to not pick the book up. Why? Well because if no thoughts actually gone into the cover then whats to say there's been in thought into the book. The cover is suppose to represent the characters in your book and Emma just does this perfectly every single time. I know I shouldn't but when you read as many books as me then the cover is my first point of call and if it doesn't pass that test I won't even read the blurb.
So onto this book. Emma is one of the best romantic comedy writers out there and this was another one of her great books to add to her long list. This is Raelynn and Chase's book and their second chance love story. I loved the banter between the two of them. Their story isn't all hearts and roses, its gritty and real. They both have a history together and even years later everything is still very fresh as nothing has ever been spoken about or dealt with. They bring out the best and worst in each other and I just loved reading it all. Now what I loved was how you got both charcters POV so I got to see both sides of their story and connect to both characters on that much deaper level.
Trust me this is one book you definatly want to pick up and read, loved loved loved it. I can't wait for this authors next work.

Excerpt:
“And there goes my water.” Rae got up and dumped the contents of her glass into the sink. “Thanks for that.” I shrugged. “Can’t drill without dust, babe.” “Can’t drill without dust, babe,” she parroted in a high-pitched voice. “Whatever. You can drill without contaminating my water.” “Remember who’s doing who a favor here.” She cocked one hip and put her hand on it. “The only reason you’re still here is because I bent over an hour ago and you saw my underwear.” I couldn’t help the twitch of my lips. “That may be a contributing factor.” “Oh, please. You keep staring at me just in case I flash you again.” “Actually, I’m staring at you because you look hot as fuck in that dress.” I paused. “But I won’t deny that you flashing me would be a bonus.” Rae rolled her eyes. “I don’t even know what to say to you. You’re ridiculous.” “Ridiculously charming.” “Ridiculously frustrating.” “Charmingly frustrating.” “You—” She stopped and pointed at me. “You are. You are. You!” she growled and stomped into the kitchen. I choked back a laugh. “I am delightful, handsome, and phenomenal in bed!” She came back within seconds. “If you’re trying to make me fall in love with you again, you’re failing dismally.” “Technically, I’m not trying. I’m such a delight you’ll fall back in love with me anyway.” “You’re a raging egomaniac.” “And you are a beautiful ray of happiness.” “And you—wait, what?” She frowned. “When did this get turned around on me? Stop complimenting me. You don’t compliment me when I insult you.” I leaned against the wall, still holding onto the drill. “All right, you’re a miserable little shit. Is that better?” Her lips twitched as she tried not to laugh. “No. You’re supposed to compliment me even when I tell you not to.” “I’m not falling for your female psychobabble.” I pushed off the wall and looked for the next ‘x.’ “Compliment yourself. I have no problem doing it.” “I compliment myself all the time. Have you seen my boobs?” I shot her a side-eye. “Yes. I’m also fond of those.” Rae folded her arms across her chest. It did nothing to further her cause of pretending to be annoyed. All it did was push her tits up. “If you’re trying to make me stop looking at your tits, you’re doing a bad job.” She looked down and immediately dropped her arms. “Yeah, well, shut up.” She sniffed. “How many holes are left?” I scanned the wall. “Three. You should try one. It won’t kill you.” She shifted. “No offense, but I don’t know if I trust you around me with tools.” “I wasn’t even near you when you dropped the scraper on your foot. I won’t drop the drill. I promise.” I paused. “If anything, I’m the one who should be worried given that you’ve already dropped the drill once.” “That was an accident.” “Exactly.” I pushed off the wall. “Come on. You might learn something.” “I doubt it,” she mumbled, wiping her hands off on her dress and coming to stand at my side. “Okay, let’s humiliate me.” I laughed and drew her into my body. She nestled against me as if she were made for me. Her ass curved perfectly into my hips, and the gentle sweep of her back flattened against my stomach and chest like a missing puzzle piece. “Wrap your hand around the handle,” I said, raising her hand to it. “And hold onto it. Tight.” “I think I can figure that out.” “Remember who dropped the drill.” She sniffed. “I didn’t expect the wall to be so hard.” “Rae, it’s fucking brick. Not marshmallow. What the hell did you expect?”

REVIEW:
3.5*/4* read.
More Than Crave You is the fourth book in the More Than Words series. Although they can be read as standalones, there are several references to things that happened in the previous three books so in my opinion you would enjoy this book better having read the other three first like I did.
We seen a glimpse of Evan in book three and I was actually really looking forward to his book. I knew it would be a heartbreaking story to read but I was intrigued to see how the author wrote his story. Having lost his wife and unborn child in a car accident he says he can never love again and therefore decides to advertise for a wife. Hes trying to heal but also move on but doesnt really know how to.
The first half of the book was hard for me as I struggled to connect to the story, but as it went on I did find myself enjoying it more and invested into the characters which I struggled to do at first, Usually with me I either instanly connect to a character or instanlty dont, so this was a bit of a weird one for me to actually suddenly get that connection half way through a book. It was more Nia that I didnt connect to but like I say that changed half way through. A bit like my feelings this was definatly a rollercoaster of a read, you feel every emotion and go on there journey with them.
An enjoyable read, and another great book to add to this series.

Excerpt:
I charge down the hall toward what might be the stupidest mistake of my life. I move through the sea of bodies, shrugging past the Latina dancer, a few of the French maids, then bump into my assistant’s handsy dance partner. I stare him down. He looks at me blankly. One thing I realize instantly? My gaydar is absolutely silent. He’s every bit as straight as I am. As he hovers protectively around Nia’s dressing room, I snarl and shoulder my way past him. He grabs my arm. “Where do you think you’re going?” “To see Nia. Let go.” His eyes narrow. “Is she expecting you?” No. In fact, I’m about to shock the hell out of her. I don’t know if I’ll be unwelcome, but I’m going to test Bas’s theory that she wants me. If he’s right…this could get messy really fast. I shake him off, barrel inside the room, and shut the door. Behind me, I immediately hear the asshole jimmying the knob. I throw my weight against the portal to keep him out and lock it behind me. Nia whirls to the sound of my intrusion, dressed in an inch of stage makeup, a silky white robe—and nothing else. The moment she recognizes me, her mouth drops open. Shock spreads across her face. “E-Evan?” “Nia.” I can’t find more words. I can’t do anything except stare and put one foot in front of the other. I certainly can’t defuse the anger and possessiveness I know I have no right to feel. “What are you doing here?” “That’s my question for you,” I growl. “Why the fuck are you taking your clothes off for strangers?” She rears back and blinks at me. I don’t think she’s ever heard me curse. I keep the office professional, totally aboveboard. But I can’t manage decorum now when she’s breathing hard and her nipples are poking her thin robe. She raises her chin and glares at me. Everything about her demeanor is like waving a red cape in front of a bull. “It’s burlesque, not stripping,” she snaps. “I don’t do this for money. I do it because I enjoy dancing.” “Yeah? You enjoy that asshole’s hands all over you, too?” Even though the logical side of my brain tells me I’m way out of line, I point at the door behind me and stalk closer to her. “You enjoy sex standing up with him?” Her nostrils flare. Her mouth presses into a firm line. “Last time I checked, boss, I don’t have to justify my personal life to you.” The fact she’s right only pisses me off more. “You do when your behavior reflects badly on Stratus Solutions.” She shoots me a quelling glare. “You’ll have to do better than that. No one in the audience knows who I am. I never take off my mask and I never use my real name. Nothing I do on stage can taint your reputation.” Arms crossed over her chest, she saunters closer. “Why don’t you be honest and tell me what’s really bothering you? I know you’re not this mad simply because I was dressed a little risqué and gyrated on stage with Kyle?” I debate the wisdom of blurting the truth. The rational part of my brain tells me to shut up, leave, and act on Monday like nothing happened tonight. Every other part of me knows that ship has sailed. My cock is especially eager to lay my cards on the table, grab Nia in my arms…and not worry about what happens next. “You’re right. I’m mad because I think you’ve fucked him.” She jerks as if I’ve slapped her. “Not that it’s any of your business, but we haven’t been together in almost two years. Thanks for letting me know you think I’m a whore.” Hearing I was right royally pisses me off. Having her put words in my mouth kills what’s left of my patience, stripping away anything resembling professional civility. I try not to squeeze her arms as I drag her close. “I never said that. Or thought it. I’m telling you that I can’t stand knowing he’s touched you. I don’t like the fact you still have anything to do with him. I don’t even understand why I’m here yelling and angry. I’m just…” How the hell do I put the storm raging inside me into words? No clue, but I need to get it all out somehow or I’m going to explode. “Jealous?” Soft surprise crosses her face. Something about her confusion rips the confession from me. “Yes.” “Because you…want me?” I grit my teeth and try again to think through the wisdom of spilling all this to her. But I can’t keep it in. The softness of warm silk and hot woman under my palms almost undoes me. “Yes. I know I shouldn’t. I’ve spent forty-eight hours telling myself what I’m feeling is ridiculous and I can’t allow this—whatever it is—into our perfectly comfortable, efficient working relationship. But I can’t turn it off. I can’t fight it. I can’t pretend it doesn’t exist.” “Is that what you’d rather do? Bury your head in the sand and not feel it?” She looks hurt. Her expression makes me feel like an asshole. Nia always asks insightful questions. Why should now be different? I shake my head. “For the first time in months—maybe years—I feel alive.” Nia stares at me in silence, her gaze fused to mine. I swear I see a hundred thoughts whip through her head. For once, I can’t read a single one. “Say something.” If she doesn’t soon, I don’t know what I’ll do. I don’t even know if I can be responsible for what happens next. “Have you been drinking?” “Not enough to drown out how much I want you.” “In spite of your opinion about my sexual past? And what about our working relationship?” She’s not wrong, but they’re barbed questions. I have to maneuver around them carefully. “Nothing matters to me except touching you right now.” Before Nia can chew on my answer and remember all the reasons she should say no, I pull her against me. She gasps. The instant her soft body makes contact with my hard, aching cock, I groan and hold her tighter, cupping her face and lowering my mouth to her parted lips.

Review:
3.5*/4* read.
Big Talking Man is book 2 in the Kings of Castle Beach series by Marquita, but can be read as a standalone. My opinion is that you should read book 1 first or you will be a bit lost with the characters. If you've read the first book then you'll have already met Quinn and the rest of her family and got to know them all a bit which helps when reading this book.
The reason for my in the middle rating was the fact that I didn't massively connect to Quinn. Tate I loved, he made this book for me but Quinn I found annoying at times aswell as not connecting to her which kind of made it hard to invest in these to as a couple. For her age I felt that she needed to grow up and stop acting like the teenager she isn't, she was so immature to the point of been really very annoying. For the first time ever I actually didn't want them to be together as I just didnt believe in them as a couple and yet I just completly adored Tate. It was a really mixed book for me as you can see.
While I didn't love Quinn I did enjoy the book and the storyline and of course I loved Tate. I will definatly be reading more as I did love the first book in this series I just think I had a bit of a personality clash with Quinn which knocked this book for me.

 Excerpt:
“I’d rather you drop off the face of the earth. Oh wait, you already did that… At least we can agree you are a fool.”
Guilt surges, hitting me square in the chest. “I’m guilty, but I’d like the chance to tell you my side of the story.”
Those silver orbs of hers shift away, as if the memory of what I’d done hurts too much. “I don’t see why you can’t share on the way to town instead of at dinner tomorrow.”
“Because it’s going to take a hell of a lot longer than twenty minutes, Quinn, and you already agreed. Don’t go back on your word.”
“I’m a King. We don’t play those kind of bullshit games with people.”
I stride to my car, opening the passenger side door. “Grab your keys and whatever else, and get in.”
She stands there for a moment, a proud, gorgeous vision of a woman. My mouth goes dry. She radiates power and vulnerability, a true juxtaposition.
But that’s Quinn.
That’s one of the reasons I fell in love with her. It’s also why I can’t let her have the upper hand in this. “I want to renegotiate.”
“What?” she says, clearly annoyed. “You don’t want to have dinner with me?”
“Oh, I do, but I want it to be the first date of many for the next month.”
“The next month?”
My grip tightens on the steering wheel, and I force myself to loosen it. “I want your word now, Quinn. I want you to agree to give our marriage a shot over the next thirty days. I’m all in. I want you to be, too.”
“Just like that.” She snaps her fingers.
“Absolutely.” I sneak a glance at her. She’s regarding me with anger, confusion, and another emotion that I’m certain is hope contorting her face. “I dare you to take me on.”
Her lips purse, brows rising. “I dare you to win me back. If you don’t, you’ll sign the divorce papers.”
“Challenge accepted. “At the next light, we shake hands.

She's been called "one of the best new voices in romance" (Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews) and her books have been accused of being "a sexy, fun, and slightly addicting contemporary read" (The Book Queen).
When she's not writing sexy heroes who adore their sassy heroines, she enjoys shopping, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Married to her high school sweetheart, Marquita lives in a seriously small town in the south with her husband, two kids, and a dog.
