Blaze Townsend: I hate you.
Charisma Rossi: I hate you more.
She’s been expecting this ever since their latest showdown. She had good reason.

Former fling.
Dumped her in front of her friends.
At her own party.
So no, she’s not about to forgive and forget just because he sits next to her in class.
He thinks all he has to do is turn on those baby blues, and she’ll melt right back into his arms. Please. She’d be crazy to let this cocky player affect her again. (Tell that to her body.)
Charisma Rossi.
Nerd girl with a dash of bad.
The one who got under his skin.
The one he cut loose.
Blaze knows she’s the riskiest prospect at Waylon University, but none of the interchangeable girls he hooks up with have ever made him feel the way she did. There’s absolutely no way he can have the girl and the game.

So why can’t he stop trying to win her back?
Can this wide receiver score the girl or will he make the biggest fumble of his life

Review:
4* read.
I do love a good college romance read. One thats not in the young adult genre so that theres no steam to it. I do like a bit steam and sexual tension/chemistry between my characters. There was a bit to much back and forwards with them and the same details been repeated, also it was a but of a small burner  (hence it not quite been a 5 star read), but I still loved Blaze and Charisma's story and going on their crazy journey with them. The tension and chemistry was off the charts hot between these two, most of the time you wanted to bang their heads together and say wake up. I have to say though the pet bird stole this book for me, making me laugh out loud at its remarks it gave you a break from screaming at the characters to get together.
I love this authors writing style and work, a great slow burner of a read that will have you hooked in their story. I can't wait till the next book by this author .

Excerpt:
“Need some help?” I’m on my tiptoes when the question comes, trying to reach a book on the top shelf in the bookstore at the student center.  My heart does a nosedive off a cliff as that familiar gruff voice washes over me, his accent a smooth drawl that’s reminiscent of hot summer nights and slow kisses—kisses we never had…well, except for that one time freshman year.  I ignore him and try to grab the book. “You’re too short. Let me,” Blaze says, this time closer, his voice soft. I ease back on my feet and whip around, internally wishing I’d worn something more I hate you and don’t you wish you still had me, but sadly, I’m not in my kickass shoes and itchy dress. Today it’s flat-soled red Converse, black joggers, and a Yankees sweatshirt. I blow at a piece of hair in my face. Shit. Of course, he looks magnificent in a tight long-sleeved black shirt that clings to his broad chest and tapered jeans molded to those leg muscles. His face is unshaven, the darkness on his jawline adding a broody look. Curse him and his hotness.  I stare at him a little too long, until I snap out of it. “I don’t need help,” My voice is strangled as I move to brush past him—forget the textbooks—but he reaches out and takes my elbow. “Charisma—” His fingers are a hot brand on my skin—it’s the first time we’ve touched in three months—and I pull away. A tremble starts in my legs. How dare he?It was one thing to see him in a social setting and pretend I was fine, but when we’re face to face without people watching… “Don’t put your hands on me. I’m not your hookup anymore, football player.” His face reddens, and he drops his arms. “I didn’t mean—” he stops, not finishing as he studies my face. I wonder what he sees. You know what he sees, Charisma—someone who wasn’t up to his usual standards. Everything I didn’t say last night rushes out. “Didn’t mean to what? Dump me in the middle of my own sorority’s party in front of all my friends and half of campus? And you know, that’s totally fine. We both knew I wasn’t enough to keep your attention.”  His jaw clenches and he frowns, his brow furrowing. “I didn’t plan for things to happen that way.” “How did you want to break up with me? Over candlelight? A text would have worked just fine,” I bite out. The silence builds between us, and he watches me intently, as if trying to figure me out. He starts at my hair and works his way down to my feet, then comes back to my face. Just when I think I might combust from the intensity of his eyes, he looks away.  “What?” I cock my hip. “You look like you want to say something.” He taps his hand against his leg. Ice-blue eyes, ones I used to stare into and get butterflies from, glitter down at me. “You just can’t handle that ended things, sweetheart.” “Not your sweetheart.”  “Never were.” Shit…shit…my heart feels like an anvil just landed on it, heavy and hard, and I can’t breathe for a second at his words, part of me pissed, the other part devastated. I wanted to be his sweetheart, I did, but he… You’re not my type. “Thanks for the reminder,” I say quietly, my anger folding away piece by piece and slipping into that horrible self-pity I despise.  He closes his eyes and scrubs his face with those talented hands, strong and big and capable, skillful with a football.  He steps in front of me, much like he did last night, and I tilt my head back to take him in. At my height of five feet, three inches, it’s hard to glare at a guy who towers over you and not look ridiculous, but I manage—until his eyes flicker with lingering emotion.  I dart my eyes around the store, searching for a way out, but I’m stuck between him and a bookshelf. “You’re blocking my path.” I focus on his legs. No sexiness there—well, except for the tight muscles under that denim.  “This is what I know,” he says in a low voice, ignoring my statement. “You told me we were just messing around. You set all the rules. Isn’t that how you operate? So why does me ending things with you even matter?” “You never asked for more. You could have.” The revealing words fall around us, tinged with hurt, and I want to pull them back.  The silence between us crackles, yet I’m aware of other people around us. There are a few girls on another aisle, and I glance over as one of them pulls out her phone. No doubt she’s taking a picture of him. Part of me retreats, anxious she’ll get me in that photo—a girl who clearly doesn’t belong. He doesn’t notice. Everyone knows who he is, and they’re probably wondering why he’s talking to me.  “No, I didn’t,” he finally says, the words taut as if pulled from him unwillingly. He taps his leg, his tell that he’s anxious or angry. We weren’t together long, but every moment we spent together, I studied him like a wine connoisseur given a glass of rare cabernet. I know what makes him laugh, usually random things that make no sense. I know that groan he makes deep in this throat when he slides inside me, like he’s home. I know the feel of his hand when he cups my face and stares at me, a hesitant expression on his face— “You can’t even look at me anymore. I wonder why,” he says, his voice a challenge.  Steeling myself, I face those baby blues. “You know why. I wish we’d never met up last fall. I wish you’d never flirted with me. I wish I’d never fucked you that first time in the library—” “Same page. Same fucking page, Charisma.” And then he’s walking away, broad shoulders swaying as he stalks down the aisle…

BROKEN KNIGHT BLOG TOUR BANNER.jpg

"Everyone needs to read this book. "

- Harloe Rae, USA Today bestselling author.

Broken Knight, an all new standalone about first loves, betrayal and loss from USA Today bestselling author L.J. Shen, is available now!

IMG_1621
Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending.
Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower.
Sweet.
Caring.
Charitable.
Quiet.
Fake.
Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language.
Who taught her how to laugh.
To live.
To love.
Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero.
Gorgeous.
Athletic.
Rugged.
Popular.
Liar.
This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna.
But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore.
When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes.
Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy.

Right now I wanted to just be here in silence with my best friend. And somehow, I don’t know how, but Luna sensed it. So we sat there for what felt like two hours but was probably a lot less, until I opened my eyes again. Her eyes were closed, too. I watched her for a while.
When she opened her eyes, it felt like she took something away from me.
“Let’s jump,” she said.
“I’m quite fond of my limbs, Moonshine.”
“Stop being such a big baby.”
“Big, quarterback baby who just finished a football season in one piece and would like to keep all his body parts intact.”
She crawled out of the treehouse and settled on the branch. It was thick, but I doubted it could carry my muscular ass for more than a few seconds before snapping. I rolled my eyes and settled next to her. She slipped her hand in mine.
“Three, two, one.”
It was a short, sweet way down.

Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.

Since the beginning of times, there has always been two sides: Norms and Idols.

But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.

I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers.

And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.

To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.

They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.

*Wicked Gods is a mature paranormal high school bully 'why choose' romance.

Review

4* read.

I have to admit this is definatly not a book I'd usually read. I've never read a reverse harem book or read that many paranormal books, but my love for bully romance books won out and had me trying this one out.

What first captured me with this book was the front cover. I've never read this author before so didn't know what to expect but I completly fell in love with the characters and the story.

I was definatly entrapped from the very start. I couln't put it down as I needed to know what was happening next.

Great start to the series, I'm looking forward to the rest.

EXCERPT

“Excuse me, waitress,” he says loudly as I walk in front of their table. “We’re ready to order.”
I pause and throw a nervous glance at Poppy, who’s already coming to the rescue.
“I’ll take your orders, gentlemen,” he says politely.
“Why?” the boy with the air of boredom asks, leaning against the back of the booth.
“Well, Daisy’s shift is almost over and—”
“I don’t give a damn about Daisy’s fucking shift,” he spits back, raising his voice. “Isn’t our booth in her section?” His cerulean blue eyes become brighter, turning an electric blue, and dark veins appear on his stony face before they fade away.
My jaw slackens and my eyes widen of their own accord. My heart is pounding inside of my chest, wanting to break free, but I can’t let these bullies take their wrath out on Poppy or our customers, not on my account.
“It’s okay, Poppy. I can take care of their orders.” I smile tightly, and then, pushing the fear aside, I turn to the jackasses. “What can I get you?”
I grip the pen tighter to hide the shakes that are running through my body and stare at the dark-haired one. He seems to be the meanest of the bunch, but I can’t bring myself to make eye contact with the one facing him—Dad’s killer’s lookalike.
“How about a little smile for us, sugar?” The dark-haired one’s lips unfurl into a wicked grin, and my stomach coils tightly. I don’t like how he’s watching me like I’m prey.
“Sorry, that’s not on the menu,” I say before I can help myself.
Daisy, what the hell are you doing?
“Ouch. Burned in two seconds. That’s gotta be a record for you, Rufio,” one of them chuckles.
Blond with green eyes, he reminds me of an actor from a popular TV show. He definitely has the Hollywood package. Too bad he’s an Idol, and as such is bad to the bone.
“Shut your mouth, Phoenix.” Rufio levels his friend with a glare.
“What’s the pie of the day?” the white-haired boy asks.
I have no choice but to look at him. And fuck me, now I’m tongue-tied for entirely different reasons. His hair is completely white, but peering at him closely, I can see he definitely doesn’t possess any resemblance to my father’s murderer. There’s only one word I can use to describe him: flawless. His face looks like it was carved from marble, all perfect angles.
Big almond-shaped honey-colored eyes, framed by ridiculously long eyelashes, watch me intensely. He asked me a question, and here I am, staring at him like I’m a freaking moron.
“Blueberry,” I croak and then clear my throat. “Blueberry pie.”
“Is it any good?” He continues to stare at me.
“The best in town.”
“Why are you even asking if the pie is any good?” Rufio asks with a hint of annoyance. “You’re going to order it and eat the whole thing with gusto, even if it tastes like cardboard.”
I turn to the guy. “It doesn’t taste like cardboard. It’s fucking amazing.”
Okay, I must have a death wish. Why am I talking back to him? He’s a high-level Idol, for crying out loud.
His eyebrows arch, and he gives me a crooked grin. “Really? Would you bet your life on it?”
Danger. Abort. Abort. Too late. If I back down now, he’ll think I’m afraid of him—which I am. Terrified, actually. But he can’t know that.
I lift my chin. “Yes.”
Phoenix, the blond one, whistles and says, “It seems we’ve got a feisty little thing on our hands, boys. This evening is turning out more amusing than I anticipated.”
“You shouldn’t have done that,” the white-haired guy says bluntly.
He’s right, but oh well. My mother used to say that my big mouth would be my demise. Maybe the day has finally come.
“Trust me. I won’t lose,” I reply.

Review:
4.5* read.
I always enjoy this authors work. This time what grabbed my attention wasn't the author's name but actually the cover as it's so different it immediantly grabbed my eye.
This is the first book in The Dating Series and a great second chance romance read.
This is Caroline and Alex's story and I have to say I loved both characters but Alex has a special place in my heart. He was just completly swoon worthy that you couldn't help but love him. I'm not going to say anything about the actual story as the blurb does that for me so no point in repeating it, but what I will say is that you could feel the chemistry straight away between these two. And yes there was a few road blocks put in front of them, but I enjoyed going on their journey and seeing them develop as characters.
Quite a light easy read this is great for that summer night relaxing in the garden. I'm looking forward to reading this author's next work.

Blog Tour-2.jpg
Excerpt:
I head straight for the pickup counter, where I see my skinny vanilla latte waiting for me, my name written on the side of the cup in Stella’s familiar scrawl. Without hesitation I grab it, inhaling deeply before I take a sip. Just a tiny sip so I can savor it. I close my eyes for a second, maybe two, and when I open them, I find a guy standing there.
Watching me. And he’s not just any guy. He’s cute. Wait, no. Not cute. He’s…hot. Dark hair. Blue eyes. Wearing a suit that fits him perfectly. I know just from looking at the fabric that it’s custom. Expensive. He’s smiling at me. And I’m scowling at him in return because the caffeine hasn’t quite hit my bloodstream yet, so I’m not on top of my game. “You looked like you were having a moment.” His voice is deep. Rich. His face…vaguely familiar? I stand a little straighter. Take another sip of my coffee as I contemplate the man in front of me, because for some reason I still can’t come up with anything to say. Listen, I always have something to say. But this guy. This gorgeous, well-dressed maybe-stranger, is leaving me a little… Dumbstruck? Huh. “That moment you were just having. With your coffee,” he continues, gesturing at the cup I’m clutching in both of my hands, like it’s my baby. Which this morning—every morning—it is. “She loves coffee,” Stella says from behind me. Glancing over my shoulder, I give her a look, one that says shush. “I can see that.” The amusement in his voice is obvious. He thinks it’s funny. The sacred moment I was having with my latte made him smile. I wouldn’t mind coming up with other ways to make him smile. Whoa. Where did that thought come from? “What I want to know is, how did you get such special treatment?” I blink at him like I’m an uncomprehending idiot. “Excuse me?” “Well, I’ve been here for the last fifteen minutes. First, standing in line.” He gestures at the line of customers that trails out the door. “And now, waiting for my order.” Guilt fills me. Just a tiny bit. Sweet Dreams CafĂ© is the most popular bakery and coffee shop in Carmel-by-the-Sea. All the tourists love it. All the locals love it too. It’s been in Stella’s family for generations. “Yet you skip past the line, walk straight in here and grab your ready-made drink within a few seconds of your arrival. Do you have a Fast Pass?” A brow lifts, and I’m hit with a quiver. Like Cupid just drew back his bow and shot that arrow right in my heart. Or perhaps that arrow struck me in, ahem, other places. Who knew a brow lift could be so sexy?

Review:
4.5* read.
I'm a great fan and follower of this author's work so I always look forward to a new book coming out as I know I'll be in for a great read.
I don't know if it was just me having a off day (it probably was), but I found the first chapter to be quite confusing at first. I just didn't have a clue as to what was happening or anything untill all of a sudden I got it. Like I say that was probably just me having one of those days but luckily my brain clicked in gear pretty quick.
Charlie and Reese are character's you instanly connect to. When you first meet Charlie especially (I'm not going to give anything away on that) but you can't help but fall in love with her and pity her for the situation she's in. At one point in the book I did kind of want to give her a good shake and say what are you doing, but thats the beauty of this authors writing, she drags you into the story as if your right there. Reese and Charlie have this weird sort of friendship at first that no one see's coming. You don't expect it as Charlie is such a massive fan of his that you would think he would run a mile whilst screaming ahhh crazy stalker. Thats not the case though and instantly they connect with this weird deep friendship connection that was both hilarious and sweet. The banter and chemistry between them could be felt off the page and I was rooting for them throughout.
There's quite a lot of depth to this book that you might not expect, it really takes you on a journey. Its both sad and hilarious in places so a real emotional rollercoaster read. I devoured every last page and I can't wait to see what this author writes up next.

He came out, all ready, saw me, and shook his head. Giving him the biggest smile I could muster, I handed over his coffee and dangled my keys. “Let’s go.” My neighbor was coming home from his night shift at a factory. He was trudging down the hallway when he saw us, lifted a hand in greeting, then stopped. His head shot upright and his shoulders stiffened. He rotated swiftly on his heels, his eyes wide and bulging. He held up a hand. “Is that—” “No.” Lying. Another superhero quality of mine. “It’s late, Bill. That’s my brother.” Reese squashed a laugh and nodded to the guy. “What’s up.” It wasn’t a question, but a greeting, and he hustled me past my neighbor. I gave Reese a look as we went to my underground parking spot. “He’s going to hammer me later. He’ll know he wasn’t seeing things.” “He’s a fan?” “The biggest.” Reese smirked, meeting my gaze over the top of my car. “Bigger than you?” We were entering cheesy territory here. We needed to scale it back. “I have a cardboard cutout of you,” I told him. “In my closet.” He froze. “You’re joking.” I was, but now I had to buy one. “Wouldn’t you like to think that.” Settling into my chair, I felt better—more familiar terrain again. “But the funny thing is, next time you come, you won’t know if I was serious or if I bought him after I told you.” Reese just rolled his eyes, putting the coffees in the cup holders for both of us. He was looking around as I pulled out of the lot. “This is actually a nice place.” “The underground parking is nice. The apartment building itself is okay. Nothing great.” I didn’t tell him how the lights in the laundry room would dim, so if I used those machines, I had to prop the door open with a rock. Or how I’d only do my clothes between seven in the morning and nine. Nine was the latest. After that, people were stirring, and there were a few neighbors I wasn’t so sure about. Reese whistled as I pulled up to departures seven minutes later. “You weren’t kidding. That’s close.” “And you’ve barely had your coffee.” He yawned now, blinking a few times. “I’ll grab some inside. You can have it.” I parked, but didn’t shut off the engine. “Do not get out,” he warned. I grinned. “Wasn’t planning on it. We really don’t need to go to that level, with the hugging, would we kiss or not… Too many strings, friend.” He smiled back, but his eyes had started to smolder a bit. He leaned over, dropping his voice, “I’ll answer one of those questions.” His lips caught mine in a good, firm kiss, one that sent my senses spiraling and stole just the slightest bit of oxygen from my lungs. I might’ve needed to gather my bearings as he pulled back and grabbed his bag from the back. Before he turned, he gave me a second kiss, this one lighter. “Go home. Go to bed,” he said as he reached for the door. “Text me when you park, and again when you’re inside your place. Humor me. I’m a friend. I can care.” He was starting to leave, but I tugged on his shirt. He paused, looking back. “And after that?” I asked. “We’re friends. Let’s play it by ear.” Our gazes held, a shared reminder of the other details in our agreement. I saw his darkening, so I let go. “Okey-dokey. Hope you don’t get mauled.” He laughed. “It’s too early for that.” But we both knew the truth. It could happen. As if reading my mind, he amended, “It’s usually not that bad. If it is—and I don’t think it will be—airport security is good with celebrities here. They’ve got a special room and everything. Plus…” He reached in his bag and pulled out a baseball hat, dragging it low over his eyes and flicking up his hood. “This is pretty incognito.” His height wasn’t, but I decided to pick my battles. “I’ll expect twenty questions by the time you land.” He laughed. “Don’t think so. I’m going to be sleeping that whole time, but I’ll text you updates just to annoy you.” He got out, but bent back down, his tone more serious. “Do me a favor? Only take that job if you want it. Don’t take it because you feel desperate. I can loan you money, if anything.” That wiped all joking aside. “Reese.” Dammit. “I’ll never lose myself in a guy again. Ever.” “Yeah, but before you didn’t have a friend who could loan you money until you got to a place where you could pick something that actually made you happy.” His eyes flashed a warning. “Now you do. Just think about it. It’s a loan. I’d give one to another friend in the same spot.” I rolled my eyes. He chuckled. “Drive safe. I liked screwing you. Let’s do it again and soon.” “I changed my mind. Get mauled!” I could hear his laugh as he shut the door and headed inside, his bag over his shoulder. Only a couple guys squinted at him, their heads cocked to the side. He was right. His incognito look really was incognito, but he was still frustrating. And I was hoping for thesoontoo. Driving back, my phone kept buzzing. Reese: Checking in. Reese: I had to check my bag. It’s too big for a carry-on. Reese: Two autographs. Reese: Going up the escalator now. Reese: At the security line. The guards are cool. They promised not to be angry when Thunder beats the Coyotes. Reese: Through security. He knew I couldn’t answer. I was driving. Reese: I’m at gate A6. Reese: This is a nice airport. I always forget till I get here. Reese: I upgraded to first class. Reese: Coach wants to make sure I get back in time for meetings this morning. Reese: Still not boarding. Just letting you know. After parking, I grabbed my phone. Me: It’s supposed to be questions. Like, if I asked security if I could put a body in my bag, could I still check it? Questions like that. You’re not following the rules. Reese: Fuck the rules. These are my rules. Reese: You do questions. I do updates. Deal with it. Reese: Except now. Are you back at your place? Me: Yes. Walking upstairs now. Reese: No updates from you. Well. Yes. Tell me when you get in your place. I turned down my hallway. Bill’s door opened and his head popped out. His hair was scruffed up like he’d been trying for a Mohawk. “No bullshit. Was that him?” I was about to break a fellow Reese Forster fan’s heart. “It was my brother.” He glared. “You’re not fucking with me?” “No.” “Oh.” That was it. His head went back in, and he slammed his door shut. Immediately Mrs. Rings yelled from her apartment across the hall. “STOP SLAMMING THE DOORS! EVERYONE FUCKING SHUT IT!” And her parrot a second later. “STOP SLAMMING FUCKING SHUT IT!” And then, “SHUT IT, BORIS!” And her parrot again, “EVERYONE FUCK IT AND GO TO SLEEP!”
