This is the third book but the first book I've read in this series (though I have previously read this author's other books). I was going to read the others first but I didn't have much time to read and review this one so I will have to do it out of order and go back to them. That being said this can be read as a standalone and I didn't feel like I was massively missing anything. I really liked the supporting characters so I'm looking forward to going back and reading some of their stories.

I'm obsessed with Cross. He's a dark gritty character that isn't for the faint hearted. Cross's past is heartbreaking and you're hit with it straight away in the prologue. Alexa has her own past problems and is being stalked by an ex-boyfriend. Together these two are fire. The chemistry is hot and Alexa was the perfect match to Cross. At first she was quite naive to everything, but she soon got her eyes wide open.

So much happens in this book with not just Cross but the supporting characters too. Lots of twists and turns and a perfect dark romance to feed my dark side.

She slides in, and I make my way to the driver’s side. Starting it up, I look over at her. “Where to?” I meant it more as a “where do you live?” but what I wanted to say and the words that actually came out were two very different things. 

She looks over at me. “Wherever you want to go.”

That’s an open invitation if I’ve ever heard one. Obviously, she doesn’t want me at her house, or she would have suggested that. “Kingdom?”I question, unable to keep my eyes from dropping to her legs as she runs her hands over her jeans. Her nails are kept short and painted black. She wears a silver banded ring on her right hand. It’s plain yet dainty at the same time. 

“I don’t gamble,” she states. 

My eyes meet hers. “Neither do I.”

What I have planned for her is much more intimate. I mean, if she’s into a crowd watching, then that’s fine too. I’m not shy. 

She laughs, leaning her head back against the headrest, and smiles softly at me. Her green eyes drop to my jeans, and I refrain from groaning at the thoughts that run through my mind. My hand in her hair while she’s bent over the center console with her lips wrapped around my cock …“Kingdom it is.” Not wanting to waste another second, I take off, getting the hell out of here. 

We don’t say much during the twenty-minute drive back to the Strip. I keep checking on her to make sure she hasn’t passed out, and every time, she’s looking out the window. 

I pull up around the back of tower one, where the Kings and I have a private entrance. Parking the car, I help her out and up the fifteen stairs that lead to a set of black doors. 

Her drunk eyes take in the white marble floor and black circle with the gold K in the middle when we enter the building. Lifting her head, she notices the mirrored ceiling and chandelier hanging in the entrance. 

Nigel stands behind his black marble desk in the corner. Nigel is our right-hand man. He’s more of a father to us than our actual fathers ever were. Guess it didn’t take him and Titan very long to bury Kenneth. He looks up and smiles at us. “Good evening, Cross. Alexa. It’s good to see you again.” I’m not sure how he knows her other than maybe he met her at Titan’s wedding. 

“You too, Nigel,” she tells him as I scan my key card for our private elevator. Only a King has access to it. Other than him, of course. It opens immediately, and we step inside. I have to refrain from ripping her clothes off right here and now. Just a few more minutes and she’s all mine. 

It comes to a stop on the Royal level to the suite that the Kings share. But no one will be here tonight. Titan hasn’t stayed one night here since he married Emilee. Grave stays at his house with April, and Bones rarely sleeps. I’m sure he’s at Glass—one of the many businesses he owns that we all pretend we don’t know about. 

Stepping into our suite, I turn to face her. “Would you like a drink?”

She places her hands on my chest, gripping my shirt. “I think I’ve had enough.”

My hands go to her hips, and I yank her to me. The thought crosses my mind that this is a mistake. That she’s off-limits to me. I try to think of my best friend and how it would affect him. “I made a promise not to touch you,” I rush out, hoping she pushes me away. 

She surprises me by smiling, and it’s anything but innocent. Her pretty green eyes drop to my lips before returning to mine. “I can keep a secret.” Then her lips are on mine.

Honestly I don't know where to start with this book except to say it was heartbreakingly beautiful. It wasn't what I expected to read from this author, it was completly different but just as equally brilliant as her other books that I've read and loved. I have to admit I went into the book not knowing anything about it apart from the title. I didn't read the blurb I just saw this authors name and knew I had to have it.

When you start this book you'll have no idea of the emotional journey you will go on. The heartbreak and emotional pain you'll feel mixed in with what is a beautiful love story will certainly take your emotions through the mixer. I'm not going to say anything about the actual story as I think it's best to read it the way I did which is not knowing anything. If you are one of those types of people that needs to know first then the blurb gives you some idea as to what to expect.

If your looking for a light read this isn't the book for you, its a heavy book with a heavy story. It packs a punch and it doesn't apologise while doing it. Oh how I've missed this authors work and really hope she has another epic book to release at somepoint real soon.

I adore this author's writing style and her ability to make me connect and invest in the characters. This was another great book that I just couldn't put down.

So this is Raelynn and Ben's story. I love the name Raelynn as it's so unique and not a name I've heard much. I instantly connected to both characters and was rooting for them to get together. Ben is an NBA superstar who comes to Raelynn's little hometown in Texas with the rest of the men's USA basketball team to train for the Olympics. Both living completely different lives Raelynn certainly isn't just going to bend over (pun intended) for Mr popular.

I loved their chemistry and banter. They go through such a rollercoaster of a journey that you can't help feeling every emotion. 

Another thing that stood out to me was the supporting characters and how much I wanted to read their stories too and that's why I loved this book so much. It wasn't just the two main characters, it was a whole book full of brilliant supporting characters that made this my favourite book yet.

Another great book by a really talented author. I'm so excited for the next one.

5 massive star read.
One of my favourite authors, I just love her dark twisted  words. I have been really stuggling with books at the minute and not been able to get into them as much. With this book I was addicticed from the first chapter, but then again I knew I would be as I've been waiting for ages to get more of a glimpse into Brantley, and of course Saint.
Please note this does end on a cliffhanger. Now I admit it's very rare I will read a cliffhanger book before all parts are out. I just have no patience in regards to finding out what happens next. That been said this author is one that I will read any book as soon as its out, cliffhanger or not. As I've read every single one of her books I have read a couple of cliffhanger books from her before so I knew what to expect. Then again that didn't stop me from swearing and shouting at my kindle with that ending.
So Brantley and Saint's story. I always knew I'd fall in love with Brantley, but I still didn't expect to love him as much as I did. Every book you think well no one can be as good as Bishop, or Nate, but actually I think Brantley is my favourite. His dark brooding twisted ways and the way he looked out for Saint and was so possessive of her made this book perfect for me. A dark brooding protective alpha male with 11 piercings, erm whats not to love?
As always I loved seeing the other characters and how they interacted in this story, especially Bishop and how he interacted with Saint. I can't wait to see more from their relationship aswell as more from Madison. and how he reacts to that bombshell.
I can't wait for the next book after that massive cliffhanger. And I have t admit I'm so jealous of everyone who gets to start Brantley and Saints story for the first time. Your in for a real treat, just make sure you have no plans as once you start you won't be able to put it down.
Amo you've done it again, the Queen of darkness writes another brilliantly addictive read.

This book is an age gap romance with the added bit of a fake marriage aswell. I have to admit I actually haven't read many age gap romance books, although I have read a few fake marriage ones (although not a lot of them), so I was really looking forward to reading some fresh and different for me.

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. It was so addictive that I devoured every last page. A story of two people who are both damaged in their own way. A slow burn romance that doesn't feel dull or boring to read. I fell completly in love with the two main characters, and became so invested in their journey that I didn't want it to end, but also had to keep reading to find out what was happening next.

Brilliant read, I'm looking forward to more from this author.
