Summer’s Lease by Carrie Elks Release Date: July 13th Genre: New Adult Romance

Summer’s Lease an all-new romance by Carrie Elks is available NOW!

summer's lease full wrap
Meet the Shakespeare family: four sisters, four stories . . . four ways to find true love
Cesca Shakespeare has hit rock bottom. Six years after the play she wrote bombed at the box office, she's unable to hold down a job, keep an apartment, and worst of all her family have no idea how far she's fallen. So when her fairy Godfather offers her the use of his friend's Italian villa for the summer, she grudgingly agrees to try writing a new play. That's before she finds out the house belongs to her arch-nemesis, Sam Carlton.
When Hollywood heart-throb Sam Carlton sees his name splashed across a gossip rag, all he wants to do is hide. That's how he finds himself traveling to Italy, deciding to spend the summer in his family's empty villa on Lake Como. Except when he arrives it isn't as empty as he'd hoped.
Over the course of the hot Italian summer, Cesca and Sam have to come to terms with their pasts. What begins as a tentative friendship quickly grows into an intense attraction - and then a scorching fling. But they can't hide from reality forever . . . as their different worlds collide, Sam and Cesca face a choice: is this just a summer romance, or could their love weather even the coldest winds?
A brand new series from the bestselling author of Fix You and the Love in London series.

  REVIEW
4* read.
This is the first book in a series of books about the Shakespeare sisters. New author to me, the blurb really interested me but I actually enjoyed this book alot more then I though I would. Its an sweet, light, easy read set in a beautiful setting for those summer nights spent in the garden with a glass of wine.
The main character were both connectable and the chemistry really had me gripped, what made this story for me though was the setting, such a great read for the summer and it really got me in the summer mood.
I'm looking forward to the next sisters book.

Excerpt:

Sam was standing in front of her, holding a glass of water. In his other hand was a packet of Advil. He gave her the glass, then popped out two pills. Cesca was too surprised to do anything other than take them from him, swallowing them one at a time. “Thank you?” It came out as a question. If she’d been feeling more like herself she’d probably interrogate him, or accuse him of trying to poison her. Instead she felt a warmth in her chest, one that seemed to pacify her swirling stomach. “We’ve all been there,” Sam said, taking the empty glass of water from her. “Why don’t you go back to bed? You look like hell.” “Thanks.” Once she was feeling better, she really needed to work on her repartee. “It wasn’t really a compliment.” “I didn’t take it as one. I know I look terrible. I should. It’s my own fault anyway.” Sam wrinkled his nose. “Nah, we can blame the wine.” “Yeah, because it jumped right out of the bottle and into my mouth.” In spite of her headache, she felt the corners of her lips turn up. “That damn Chianti, it’s got a mind of its own. Should be banned, it’s a dangerous substance.” “Shouldn’t you be lording it over me?” she asked. “After all, you don’t like me, and you have every right to tell me off for getting drunk and then being hungover on the job.” “You’re not an equal adversary right now. I’ll wait until you’re feeling better to make you feel bad.” “That’s very gentlemanly of you.” “I aim to please.” He flashed her an unexpected smile. “Now get back to bed, you look awful and you stink.” “I can’t, the cleaners are here. I need to supervise them.” “I’ll do it. Please go back to bed.” She would have narrowed her eyes, but it hurt too much. “Why are you being so kind?” Sam sighed. “Look, I know we got off to the worst start, and I know we’re never going to get along, but the fact of the matter is, for at least the next few weeks we have to find a way to live together. You’re not well, and I’m here with nothing much to do, and it makes sense for me to take over. So please go back to bed and sleep it off.” “I owe you one,” she replied. “If I ever feel better I’ll try and make it up to you.” That made the corner of his lip twitch, but he ignored her offer anyway. “Go on, get off with you. If you’re not up by this evening I’ll come in and check on you. Otherwise, get some sleep, have a shower, and smarten yourself up.” “Yes, sir.” If she had more than a basic control of her muscles she would have curtseyed. Instead she used the small amount of energy she had to climb up the stairs to her bedroom. Maybe when she was feeling better she’d try to work out Sam’s motivations, why he’d been so accommodating to her. For now, though, she’d just be grateful for them, wherever they came from. Synopsis:

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience. “You’re pregnant.” “It’s a boy.” “Your son needs a heart transplant.” Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Lies. Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun. Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky. “He’s gone.” For ten years, the darkness consumed me. In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise. “Hi. I’m Porter Reese.”
REVIEW
5* read.
Be warned this does end on a cliffhanger but theres not to much of a wait between books.
I didn't think this author could surprise me as I already love her books, but this one completly blew me away, I'm speachless and that never happens to me. This author is a genius in everyway and is always a one click read for me now.
This book is impossible to review, so many emotions, so much breathtaking writing and storyline and characters, I just don't even know where to start or what to say so I don't give anything at all away. This book is best enjoyed when you don't know to much about it so I'll keep my review short and sweet.
So much emotions are goig through me now, I went on a complete rollercoaster which even now I feel like I'm still on. The characters are both relateable and connectable, both having faced their own seperate tragedies they are characters you instanly fall in love with. A completly gripping read I stayed up well through the night just to finish it. I'm so excited for the next book and to see where this story ends up.

Release Date: July 13th Genre: Contemporary Romance

Chasing Vivi, an all-new romantic standalone from A.M. Hargrove is available NOW!

VIVI
Vivi Renard—a blast from the past—wasn’t supposed to affect me like this.
When I knew her ten years ago she was nothing more to me than a highly functioning brain.
Hell, I paid her to do my homework.
Only now … she’s drop dead gorgeous but had the nerve to turn me down for a date … several times.
No one turns me—Prescott Beckham—down for anything.
I’m on a mission and won’t stop until I’m firmly planted between her thighs, hearing her moan my name.
Her plump red lips have me dreaming filthy things and acting like a kid with his first crush.
If I can’t have her, I don’t want anyone else to either.
What’s worse is I want to own every single bit of her.
Except there’s a slight problem.
Vivi can’t stand me.
Even the old let’s be friends again thing failed.
She tossed it back saying we were never friends to begin with.
But I’m the king at playing ruthless games.
So she’d better be ready to drop her thong, because Vivi is going to end up in my bed sooner … or later.
And I’m pretty damn sure it’s going to be sooner.

REVIEW:

4.5* read.

This is a enemies to lovers/second chance romance read. One of my favourite genres to read is enemies to lovers, mainly due to the chemistry and sexual tension that builds up just makes for a great read.

The characters made this book for me especially Vivi who was a very strong lead character who I instanly connected too. I think she was just someone I could relate to easily and her and Prescott made the perfect couple and their banter was hilerious.

Full of twists and turns you won't know what to expect next, it will keep you on your toes and keep you turning the pages wanting to know what happens next.

Excerpt:

Vivi rubs her hands on her thighs. She’s nervous and has been ever since I stood over the table. She seems to have more confidence in herself now than she had when I knew her but that doesn’t account for her skittishness. Back at Crestview, she had been overweight—I knew that—only I didn’t know, or maybe I didn’t pay attention, to the other girls giving her a hard time. And why should I have? I had so much going on in my head I could barely keep my own shit together. “So?” I prod. “Homework binder?” “You did a pretty good job with me. I only figured you put the other girls in the same boat. You know, with the homework stuff and all.” “I had you wrapped around my homework binder at Crestview. That’s your metaphor for finger.” It’s not a question. I’m baffled because I had no idea. Yeah, I was a flirt, but I flirted with everyone to get what was necessary. It was the only way I knew how to accomplish my goals. She needed the money and always acted like she had no interest in me whatsoever. “Of course. You had everyone wrapped around your finger. Well, maybe more of them were wrapped around your, um.” She points in the direction of my dick. Sexy little Vivi can’t say dick out loud. Isn’t that the cutest thing in the world? “Say it, Vivi.” “Say what?” “You know what.” I lean into her and get close to her lips. “Say it.” Her chest puffs out as she says, “Dick.” Her lovely neck flushes pink and two bright spots of fuchsia dot her cheeks. This is sweet innocence at its utmost. “Excellent. Now say cock.” I put a great deal of emphasis on the “c” and “k” at the end of the word. Silver gray irises turn stormy and deep creases form on her forehead. “Why would you want me to say that word?” “Because it makes you uncomfortable as hell and I’m an asshole. I like to see you squirm, Vivi.” “I won’t say that. It has nothing to do with truth or dare. And besides, it’s my turn.” I take a couple of good slugs of my drink, sit back, and cross my arms. “Do your worst.” She puts an elbow on the table and rests her cheek on her hand. “Truth or dare?” “Dare.” It’s impossible not to laugh at her comical expression. I curtailed her plans. “You can’t do that!” “Do what?” “Pick dare.” “I most certainly can.” Her head tilts back, and I can only imagine what she’s thinking. A chuckle escapes. “You’re a jerk,” she says. “So I’ve been told.” “Okay, then. I dare you to tell me why you loathe the man you’ve become.” She gloats at the clever way she’s twisted the game. And stupid me should’ve figured out she’d come up with something like this. Vivi was always brilliant. “Loathe is extreme. Let’s say I’m not particularly fond of who I am right now.” “Fine. Go on.” Now I’m the one who’s squirming. Where do I even begin? Vivi is almost a stranger to me. There’s no way I can bare my pathetic soul to her. “I have daddy issues.” “Really?” Her question is one of disbelief and she appears to be holding back a laugh. “Hard to believe, isn’t it?” “Um, yeah. Prescott Beckham, the guy with the world at his fingertips, has daddy issues? I think not. I Googled you after I ran into you that day. From all accounts I read there were no daddy issues to be found. Nada. Try again.” “I have a team that keeps my secrets out of the media. You wouldn’t find anything on me. But it’s true. I grew up without a mom and my father was not much of one. So, there you have it.” I give her one of my best smirks. It usually does the trick on most women. She leans back and tucks her chin closer to her body. “That’s it? And I’m supposed to buy that?” “That’s all I have for sale, Little Wolf. Sorry.” “You’re not a very fair player.” “My turn.” “Nope. I’m done.” She drinks another swig of her beer. “No, you aren’t. I’m picking for you. Truth. How many men have you fucked, Vivi? And what exactly have they done to you?” She shoves her arms into her coat and pushes at me to get out of the booth. But I have zero intentions of going anywhere. “Let me out, Prescott.” “Not until you answer me.” “That’s none of your business. How many women have you been with?” “Too many to count.” Her jaw flops open and I close her mouth with a finger under her chin. “You asked, Little Wolf.” ChasingVivi-AN

4* read.

This is the third book in this series but can be read as a standalone which is what I did as I hadn't read the other books before this one. This is the first book by this author that I've actually read and I will be going back to read the rest of the series, and other books by this author too.

The chemistry between the two main characters Brock and French was smoking hot, completly off the charts hot, and how they supported each other was both sweet and endearing. The banter was great as it did lighten up the serious side of the story too and I really enjoyed going on their journey. I cant wait to read more from this author.

About Banger!

She wants an easy summer fling. He wants more. And he won’t stop until he gets it.   CEO, Greyson James, has a BIG problem. Below the waist, he’s more man than most women can take, which has destroyed his sex life. Just once, he would like to meet a woman who doesn’t get a load of his . . . well, load . . . and run the other direction.   Katherine Clayton, divorcée and single mother of two, just sent her kids to California to spend summer vacation with their father, which means it’s time for her annual summer fling. Maybe this year she’ll find a man who can give her what she needs. And, after having two kids, what she needs is a lot of man. If she can’t find him this year, she’ll dedicate the rest of her life to her children and celibacy, because she can’t take any more bedroom disappointments.   When Greyson and Katherine spot each other inside Denver’s trendiest nightclub, the chemistry that erupts between them is undeniable, and they soon learn that each has what the other needs. But after one night of intense passion, neither is prepared for the wicked ride fate has in store for them.   As the Banger Serialized Novel unfolds, Greyson and Katherine will wrestle with their feelings for each another, long-held family secrets will be revealed, and scandals neither could have imagined will rock them to the core.   Read Greyson and Katherine’s entire story in this collection of all seven previously published novellas to find out if what they’ve found in each other will be enough for happily ever after, or if one summer fling is all they’ll share?   This collection includes all seven novellas that were previously published separately under the title, Banger (formerly Size Matters). A short summary for each part follows:   Part 1 - Well-endowed Greyson James meets pleasure-seeking Katherine Clayton. She thinks he’s a temporary summer fling. He wants something more.   Part 2 - When Katherine learns Greyson wants to buy her company, sparks fly, and she ends their affair. But Greyson is determined to win her back.   Part 3 - Katherine resists Greyson’s steady attempts to woo her back into his bed, but she can only hold out so long when her desire for him continues to grow.   Part 4 - Greyson takes Katherine on a weekend getaway that leads to a surprising confession—and an unexpected realization.   Part 5 - When Katherine and Greyson attend their friends’ wedding, she’s not prepared for her jealous reaction when she sees him with another woman. And neither is he.   Part 6 - Katherine was finally ready to give Greyson her heart, but a tragic secret from his past, as well as new developments in her family obligations, have threatened everything.   Part 7 - If Greyson is going to win Katherine back, he’s going to have to pull out all the stops. But all the stops might not be enough to overcome the surprises fate still has in store for them.

Exclusive Excerpt:

I tear my gaze away from the tall glass of cool water on the balcony who’s been eye-fucking me for the last minute and nudge Jess. “I think I found him.” “Who?” She glances around then meets my gaze. “Oh!” Her eyes go wide, and her mouth drops open. “You mean . . . Mr. Manhunt?” I nod. “Where?” “The balcony.” I bob my head in that direction. “Grey shirt. Dark-brown hair. The one with a jawline that can cut glass.” Of all the men I’ve chosen for my summer romances, this guy is the hottest yet. I only hope he’s as willing as he seems to be, because I’d like to at least see if he excels over the competition in other ways. Namely, is he packing, or isn’t he? Jess frowns as she glances up to the balcony. “Where? I don’t see—” Her gaze drops and she’s staring over my shoulder. “Oh . . .” A shiver races down my back, and I know by the look on her face that he’s standing right behind me. “Excuse me.” His voice is deep and manly, and my stomach drops then buoys back up against my diaphragm. If just his voice can elicit that response, I can only imagine what the rest of him can do to me. Or perhaps I’m merely hopeful. I have to remind myself that for all the potential of my last four summer flings, none lived up to the hype. I turn, and he’s more striking up close than he was on the balcony. Taller, too. Sometimes men are more attractive from far away, but when you see them up close, not so much. When they’re right in front of you, it’s easier to see the imperfections in their skin or that they don’t take the best care of their teeth. Or maybe they have an off-putting scent, whether natural or cologne. With this guy, there are no imperfections. His teeth are straight and white, and his healthy, weathered skin tells me he spends a lot of time outdoors. Based on the width of his shoulders and his tapered waist, I’d say the time he spends outdoors is spent doing he-man activities such as chopping through ten-foot wide tree trunks with an ax and throwing boulders. He’s obviously chiseled under his grey button-up and black slacks. Are those Armani? As for the way he smells, I feel like I’ve stepped into a crisp, clean shower in a rainforest. I just want to run my nose up the side of his neck, inhaling like a coke addict. His smile widens as his hazel, grey-blue eyes narrow slightly, and I realize I’m staring. “I was hoping I could buy you a drink,” he says. It’s simple as far as pickup lines go. Simple and polite. I like polite. It means he’s not a jerk. Or at least not a total jerk. Or maybe he’s just a smooth operator, but I don’t think so. There’s a gentle kindness in his eyes, as if he’s been rejected one too many times and, while he’s not willing to give up, he’s more cautious now about the women he approaches. Whatever the reason, I feel honored that he’s chosen to approach me. My turquoise-colored cocktail is almost empty, so I smile and place the glass on the polished bar. “Sure, okay.” “And your friend?” He gestures invitingly toward Jess as he flags down the bartender. “What are you two drinking?” Jess squeezes up beside me. “It’s called a Caribbean Mist.” The bartender stops in front of us and leans in. “Two Caribbean Mists and another scotch and soda please.” He sets his empty glass on the bar. The bartender nods brusquely and runs off to fix our drinks. “My name’s Grey,” he says, speaking loud enough to be heard over the music. “Grey? Really?” I can’t help smiling. “Like the name of a certain character from a certain book that shall remain nameless?” He rolls his eyes impishly, and his cheeks flush. “I’ve never read that book, so I barely know what it’s about, just what I’ve heard through the grapevine.” “You should read it. It’s a pretty good book. Very educational.” He flashes me his perfect smile, and it makes the sexy dimple in the center of his chin more pronounced. “I’ll think about it.” He studies me for a moment. “My full name is Greyson. It’s a family name. But everyone calls me Grey. I promise I don’t hurt women for pleasure or anything like that.” His slashing eyebrows tick inward as if the idea of hurting women makes him uncomfortable, which scores him extra brownie points. I pretend to be affronted. “You don’t?” I gasp dramatically. “And here I was hoping you’d tie me up and flog me senseless.” His mouth falls open, and he appears both lost for words and completely thrown. I laugh and place my hand reassuringly on his forearm, which is resting on the bar. “I’m only kidding, Greyson.” Relief washes over him, and he smiles again. “Ah, okay.” He averts his gaze and chuckles tightly. “You had me worried for a second.” Then he does something I don’t expect. Something that makes me stop laughing and draw in a shaky breath. He places his hand over mine. He’s still chuckling, his gaze averted almost shyly, and yet this casual, effortless touch feels more intimate than if he’d reached under my dress and caressed my inner thigh. I don’t even think he’s realized what he’s done. As if comforting people comes naturally to him . . . to the point that he doesn’t even think about it. But his touch isn’t comforting at all. At least, not to me. It’s sizzling. It’s arousing. It’s all-consuming. His palm is callused—but not unpleasantly so—and it’s warm and dry. I don’t know what it is about rough hands—man hands, as I call them—but they turn me on. To me, calluses are a sign that a man not only works hard but plays hard, and given Greyson’s physique and demeanor, I’d say his calluses are caused by both. He strikes me as the kind of man who climbs mountains or runs military-grade obstacle courses for fun. He has a special forces look about him. Like he’d look as good dressed in SWAT gear, holding a semiautomatic rifle, as he does dressed in the shimmery grey shirt and black tailored slacks he’s wearing tonight. All I know is that the moment his hand touched mine, an electrical current traveled up my arm, strengthening the strange connection I feel with him. He becomes aware that I’ve stopped laughing and turns toward me. What he finds on my face makes his smile fade, and a moment later, lust-filled enchantment seeps into his expression. His thumb brushes over the back of my hand, and I suck in my breath, which in turn makes him suck in his. “What’s your name?” he asks, moving closer. “Katherine.” “Katherine.” He rolls my name over his tongue. Who would have thought my own name could be an aphrodisiac. But the way it sounds rumbling across Greyson’s vocal chords is enough to make my insides quiver and my neglected libido stand up and take notice. “You have a beautiful name.” I’ve never thought my name was beautiful until just this second. “Everybody calls me Kate.” “I like Katherine.” So do I, especially when he says it. “Then you can call me Katherine.”

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children. Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person. She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
