REVIEW
I received a arc in exchange for a honest review.
5 read.
This is Bear's story and is book three in the King series. In my opinion I really recommended that you read the first two books King and Tyrant in order to fully understand and enjoy this book and just because you need to read the brilliance that this author writes. I loved Bear in the past books and so I was egerally awaiting his story and I wasn't disappointed. This is Bear and Thia's story which actually starts when shes just a child and circumstances brings Bear into her life, but it's not till years later when she goes looking for his help that their story really takes off. If you've read the first two books you'll already know this is a dark series so this book isn't any different. I usually don't read dark books but this author reaches into my dark side and pulls her out to play, or in my case read. I don't want to give to much away but I loved Bear's sweet and protective side that he had just for Thia and the chemistry and relationship they had. I can't believe it ended like that though and I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the concluding book.

Another great book from this author and I'm sure I'm not the only reader to say please hurry up with the next one.

Excerpt

“I’m going to remember this as the worst time in my entire life.

The very worst.” She shook her head. “There is nothing I can do

to change that.  Girls my age are playing sports, going to dances

and parties, kissing boys.  And that’s never been me.  I’ve had a

full time job at the grove and a part time job at the Stop-N-Shop.

I’ve done nothing over the last few years except work my ass off

and watch my family fall apart. Just when I thought it couldn’t

get any worse…now all this.”  She waived around to the house

and to me and let out an awkward laugh. She took another hit off

the bowl, passing it back to me.  Her coughing much less than it

was on her first try.

“Ti, how old are you?”  I asked, clearing my throat as I ventured

into territory I knew I shouldn’t.  She was a pistol, even if she

was a sad one, but there was a wave of innocence about her that

had me both feeling bad for her and salivating for a taste of her.
This is for her, not you. I told myself.  It was only a partial lie.

“Seventeen,” She said, sniffling.  “Eighteen soon.”

“You ever been kissed?” I asked, her eyes met mine. “And not a

peck on the cheek or a brief smack of the lips, but a real fucking

kiss? One that leaves you without air in you lungs and your thighs

pressing together in search of more?”  I said, my voice coming

out deep and strained.  My cock coming alive at the thought of

tracing my tongue along her pump lips.

“Why?” She whispered, and as soon as the words left her mouth I

knew there would be no coming back from what I was about to

do.

I pushed off the fire pit and pulled her up off the chair, pressing

her tits into my chest and my straining cock against her stomach.

 I

tipped her chin up and looked into her confused emerald greens.

She followed my thumb with her eyes as I traced her bottom lip.

There were too many lines marring her face, questioning what it

was I was up to.  I knew she would try to pull away at any

second, try to stop me.  But it was too late for that.

I was beyond stopping.

Just one taste.

“Answer the question,” I pressed.

“No,” she said with a slight shake of her head, and before she

could try to argue, I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers.

I was already going to hell.

Might as well enjoy the ride there.

4* read.
Friends to lovers story between Kelsey and Clint. Kelsey is a free spirit who takes no s*** from anyone, Clint is more reserved and shy. Complete opposites in every way but their friendship and deeper connection really made these two perfect for each other. A great all round book that gave you laughs as well as emotion.

When we got inside, the blaring hip hop music was only coming from one corner of the house. Kelsey's corner.

I waved the guys off, signaling that I would take care of the problem. As I got closer, I could make out the lyrics, "Drunk in loveee. We be all night! Loveee. Loveee. We be all night!"

Chuckling to myself on her choice of song, I knocked on the door. Waited a few seconds, nothing. This time I banged my entire fist in an effort to rattle the wood on its hinges. Still nothing.

"Roo..." I opened her door, letting myself in, and stopped dead at the sight in front of me. Kelsey was in the middle of the room, her hair piled on the top of her head like some fiery tornado, a glass filled to the brim with red wine in her hand. And she was dancing like a mad woman.

She donned a white tank top that exposed the sides of her breasts and entirely-too-large grey sweatpants that pooled over her feet, making her look like a dwarf. She was utterly adorable and fucking mouthwateringly sexy.

At the creek of the door she turned, her naturally red lips splitting in a megawatt smile.

“Hi!”

I could tell from her dancing and the slight blush of her cheeks that she was tipsy. It made her even cuter.

“Hi yourself. What’re you doing there?” I couldn’t help her infectious smile from spreading across my face too.

She shook her hips wildly as the song changed to something faster. Pitbull maybe. But I was never good with music. “I had a long, hard day. Kickass, but fucking hard! So I’m dancing.”

Kelsey makes this more evident by raising the wine glass to her lips, taking a huge swig, and then raising it above her head and twirling in circles.

I drop my baseball bag on her floor and toe my sneakers off. Then I join her in the middle of the floor, and begin to move.

She gives a happy shout and moves closer to me, joining her free hand with mine and swinging both of our arms.

“I had my fingers up a zebra’s ass today. Well technically, it was a whole fist!” She announces this like it's the most normal thing in the world while I pull quickly out of her grasp. Kelsey giggles at my repulsion.

“Oh my god, bro! Don’t worry I had gloves on. But I did have to juggle her placenta in there...”

“Kels, stop. I am going to throw up.”

She did that sexy little giggle again and raised the glass to her lips. As she took it away and swallowed, she then raised it to mine. I let her pour some into my mouth, watching her cinnamon eyes over the brim. I knew the instant desire sparked in them, and I could feel myself harden in the mesh shorts I wore.

Reaching up, I held the delicate stem in my fingers and pried it out of her hand. Setting it down on the desk, I began to stalk toward her like she was the meal and I was ravenous.

REVIEW
I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
5* read.
This is the second book in this series but can be read as a standalone although in my opinion you really need to read the first book Brave first as it does go on the timescale as that book but from a different characters perspective and their own story. This is Dane and Arianne's story and their chemistry was electric throughout and really made you connect with them. I love this author cause she writes such a beautiful emotional with strong relatable characters. When we met Dane in the first book Brave I was really excited to hear his story so I was so lucky to get a arc and find out what was happening with him. Arianne is a single mum and really independent and strong female who took no sh**.
Can Dane break through the walls stubborn Arianne has up and will she let him into her and her son's life? You'll need to read to find out but I know I can't wait for the next book by this author.

The drive home was a killer. Although the restaurant we’d gone to was amazing, I didn’t really think it through. Mount Tamborine road was definitely a two hands on the wheel type of drive with its succession of hairpin bends and drop offs. There was no chance to have my hand on her leg or up her skirt.

“How are you doing over there? Sulking? Plotting my demise?”

“I can’t believe you left me like that!”

I chuckled, “Building anticipation, Miss.”

“I so want to reach over and grab you by the crotch just to see how you like to be tormented. This is not a road to be doing that.” She wriggled in her seat a little more suffering from frustration.

“Spread your legs, Miss.”

“What did you say?” She was playing coy because I’d left her hanging. Ari loved it when I started bossing her when it came to sex.

“You heard me! Push your hips forward and hike that skirt up. I want to look over and see your naked pussy. I want to know that’s what I’m going to have anyway I want it when we get home.”

I noted her sharp intake in of her breath, as she did as I asked.

The road evened out into the long straights on the flat. I could take a hand off the wheel now and be safe, although I had something naughtier in mind.

“Touch your pussy for me, Miss.”

“Dane!”

“Don’t Dane me. Do it!” I growled using my Sensei voice. She called it my Get it on voice. It was my Sensei voice but hey...whatever worked for her.

“I’ve never, in front of…” She was looking at me all concerned. The other day I’d demanded her hands on her tits. Today I wanted more.

“What’s the big deal? You let me do all kinds of stuff to you. I want to see you do it.”

I glanced across and she still looked unsure. “Give me your hand, Ari.”

She took my offered hand and I placed her hand directly on her mound. Then I let my fingers trail lower.

Oh wow, she was so wet. I teased her slowly with my fingers, letting them slide through her slick flesh. A couple of times her hips jolted forward and I knew I’d hit a particularly sensitive spot.

My eyes remained focused on the road, the driving was easy—all straight roads and gradual bends. Her other hand was gripped on the armrest of the door. Not in fear, but in a need to ground herself to something. Ari liked something solid to hang onto when she was into it. There was no way I could resist sliding a finger into her hot, wet channel.

“Oh, Dane.” Her voice caught and my dick flexed in my pants in response to the sound.

The hand she had on the door was now locked around my forearm. I eased my hand upwards and covered hers. Then I slowly moved it down over herself.

I spread my fingers lightly on top of hers. “Now show me what you like.”

“Why? I love everything you do!”

“Because I want to know what you do. Come on, Miss. You didn’t spend two years on your own without at least using your fingers occasionally. Or have you got a secret cache of toys you haven’t told me about?”

She tensed briefly, then relaxed as I guided her fingers lightly.

“This really turns you on?”

“Yep! Like you wouldn’t believe. Anything that involves you and sex is an instant turn on for me.”

“And I thought you were such a gentleman!” she huffed out in shaky breaths.

“I am.” I pushed her finger against her clit and rolled it in circles the way I knew she liked. “I just like to get a little wild and demanding when it comes to sex. You love it, don’t deny it. You’ve got even wetter since we’ve been talking if that’s even possible. I can’t wait to get home and lick all that sweetness from you.”

Ari let out a few long pants and her body had gone rigid. She was almost there and I couldn’t resist moving my hand back to the wheel. It was up to her whether she came now or later. I was kind of hoping she’d finish herself off; it would be another little hurdle we jumped together.

“Dane!” she shrieked.

“Finish it, Ari. Come for me. Let me see you, hear you,” I demanded of her.

Her fingers wriggled in her pussy and she started to groan and pant all at once.

“Oh God Dane, I can’t believe you made me do it,” she cried as the orgasm racked through her. I couldn’t help the chuckle that slipped out. From the corner of my eye, I watched the spasm fire through her body and her face contort in passion.

“I just encouraged you, Ari. Miss, that was hot! My dick is so hard right now.”

“I should make you return the favour,” she grunted.

“Anytime you want. Just not tonight and not when I get home from Vegas. They are definitely my cock in your pussy kind of days.” I chuckled, and pulled her fingers from her pussy and sucked them into my mouth.

“You’re impossible!”

I loved pushing her and she loved me, too, for doing it.
