I have read a couple of books by this author and really enjoyed them so I was looking foward to this one.
Creed is your typical sexy jerk, a dirty talking alpha male that will make you melt. He's possessive and strong, a very intense hero who I instanly connected with and loved. And then there's Kasey whose just got out of a messy divorce and is jobless with little money to her name. It's whilst looking for a job she runs into Creed. Creed is Kasey’s ex-brother-in-law but they have such explosive chemistry from the start that you wonder why they weren't together from the beginning, that is untill you read their back story.A great read pact full of drama, angst and some explosive chemistry.
I will say my only main issue with this book was the cover. I have seen this exact cover a few times on different books and it just makes it harder for me to connect to a book when the cover isn't unique. Its just a personal problem I have with covers, I read so many books that I don't have a lot of time to waste. The cover is one of the first things that will make me pick up a book so if its the same cover I've seen before I wont even look at it as I assume I've read it. Like I say thats my personal oppinion and shouldn't affect anyone picking up this book.

  “I don’t know why it’s been so hard to forget this. I should become numb to it like the other guys.”   “That’s not who you are. You care about people. It’s why you do your job so well.” Surprised at Rico’s insight, Adam gave him a shy smile. “I didn’t think you noticed.” “I noticed.”   The song ended, yet they remained on the dance floor, with Rico half-hidden in the shadows, silent yet with a presence so overpowering, Adam couldn’t help but be drawn to him. Rico reached up, grasped the nape of his neck, and pressed their mouths together, and as always, it took only the touch of those firm lips to crumble his defenses. They remained on the dance floor, kissing until the sound of whistles and clapping brought Adam back to reality.   Shrugging it off, Rico took his hand, and they returned to the bar, where their burgers awaited them. Not once had he looked at Adam since they’d sat down from dancing.   Unsure what to do or say, Adam sat quietly and finished off his drink while Rico signed the receipt. When Rico got up to leave, Adam followed his lead and shook Dale’s hand. “Thanks for everything.”   “No, thank you. And take care of him. He’s kind of a mess.”   “You coming?” Rico’s face was a storm of emotions.   Without responding to Dale, Adam hurried outside to join Rico, who’d already left. “Rico, wait up.”   Rico halted and turned, his face no less dark than earlier, but Adam recalled his words on the dance floor.   “Uh, thanks for dinner. Do you want—”   “Come back with me?” Rico crowded close, his breath smelling sharp from the beer, and Adam wanted to taste his tongue. “Spend the night?”   While in Leary’s, Adam hadn’t been certain he’d be invited back to Rico’s, but he wasn’t about to question his luck right now.   “Yeah, if you want.”   Rico ran his nose down Adam’s cheek, and goosebumps prickled up his arms despite the warmth of the evening.   “I want,” Rico whispered. “I want you.”

I'm a big fan of this author and have read quite a few of her books, funnily enough though this series was never even on my radar until I saw the re-release blitz for it. This is my review for the first book in this series.

Tbh this isn't usually my type of read that I'd first pick up, I can find erotic romance to be really quite tedious and repetative. That wasn't the case with this author so I'm really glad I took a chance.

This is Goldie and Jett's story. Goldie has been through so much and suffered alot, shes a sassy waitress working in a strip club as shes down on her luck, broke and just needs a break. Whilst here she catches the eye of successful businessman Jett who saves woman from a life on the streets by recruiting them as a Jett girl at his club. Jett has a lot of walls built around him but I enjoyed reading and watching how they slowly lowered and his relationshio with Goldie.

Great start to the series.

A great continuation of Jett and Goldie's story which picks up from where book one left off. This one has more drama and angst and we're finally able to see Goldie as a Jett girl. In this book you do start to see Jett open up a bit more but you still feel he has some walls still up. Him and Goldie together are hot, the chemistry is smoking and the banter is great. Can't wait for the next one.

The final chapter in Goldie and Jett's story and my favourite yet. After the ending in the last book I couldn't wait to get started on this book. Jett has finally give Goldie everything but Goldie's left him and this brings out a whole other side to Jett that we haven't seen before.  This adds even more to the drama and angst side of this series mixed with some suspense and heartbreak this really is a great ending to there story.

I've been so excited for this book. I've followed Kace's journey through The Jett series, and have fallen in love with his alpha male side and his broody hotness. This one can be read as a standalone, unlike the other in this series, but I really recommend reading the others first and following Kace through the other stories to fully appreciate his character.

Kace is a very complex character, his past is completly heartbreaking. He has a lot of demons and is broken with this massive wall around him, yet you can't help fall in love with him. Lyla and Kace have some insane chemistry but Kane won't let her close to him in any way as he doesn't believe he deserves her and he doesn't want to taint her. Lyla I loved and she was the perfect charcter for this alpha male.

Another great read in this series, a great addition and I loved seeing Kace in his own book.

Six Months Ago
I saw the headline first. The Tutor Captive Speaks Out For First Time Exclusive!
I admit I was curious. I’d heard the news reports. Seen the reporters trying to get the meek redhead to talk to them last year. I was waiting in line at the grocery store- a task normally done by my assistant- when I picked up the rag and flipped it open to the article. Immediately nostalgia sucker punched me. One of the featured pictures showed the redhead, a young girl and…my brother. I slammed the magazine shut and slapped it on the conveyor belt with my groceries. Fucking Holden.
When I slip into my car, I yank the magazine out and read the article. Held captive. Cuts. Love. Emotional abuse. Scars. Moving on. Single. Raise awareness about abuse and PTSD. Blah blah.
“Dammit,” I mutter.  Although I don’t recall an awful lot from my childhood I do remember my mother and her specific brand of abuse and my brother’s. I pull my cell phone from my back pocket and dial my father.
“Liam,” he answers.
“Sir.”
“Burn through the money already?” His voice is tight.
I groan. “No. Have you seen the latest edition of,” I flip the magazine over, “People Weekly?”
“Why would I have son? You in it?” His voice grates my nerves. He has two tones of voice, condescending and stern.
“No, but your other son is,” I say. I run a hand through my hair. It’s just long enough to consider scheduling a hair cut. My father would prefer it cropped close to the scalp, but I’ve always kept it longer.
“Excuse me?” He barks into my ear.
“Holden Douglas Lockwood, remember him? He’s featured in the magazine.” I wait for his retort. His slew of curses but only silence greets me. “Dad?”
“I’m here. Come to the house now.”
“Yes, Sir,” I say.
I end the call and toss the magazine on the passenger seat. I start the car while pulling up Carol’s contact to send her a quick text that I won’t need her tonight. She texts me back immediately to let me know she left dinner in the fridge for me.
The drive to my father’s house isn’t long but it gives me too much time to focus on my the short movie clips that play in my mind from my former life. Mountain life. Memories of Holden screaming and my father shouting. Holden coming into our room with blood dripping down his torso as I cowered in the corner. Holden covering my mouth in the middle of the night and drawing thin slices along my scalp. What Ma did to him, he did to me, but less so. And hidden. When I told Dad what was happening he snapped. Without warning, he threw me in his truck and drove us away. He told me to never speak of our cabin. To never speak of Holden or baby Laura or Ma again. Nightmares kept me up most nights until Dad started to beat them out of me of with his belt.
We started fresh four hours south of that damned mountain. He created an empire for us. Sent me to the best schools and now I run the business he started. We have wanted for nothing. I have no idea how Holden or Ma or Laura faired. Except now- I do. I know they are all dead from that damned article.
I pull into Dad’s gated driveway and leave the car running at the front door. His valet takes my keys as I pass by him. I don’t bother knocking on my way inside. Dad sits behind his oak desk. He hand carved it. Sanded it for days. Stained it and had his security detail move the enormous hunk of wood into his office. Two fingers of whiskey reside in a glass to his left.
“Sit,” he says. I do. He does not offer me a drink.
“Show me this article.” I lean forward and toss the magazine on his desk. He flips to the article and reads silently. When he finishes, he grunts and slaps the magazine closed.
“We don’t have anything to worry about. They got his last name wrong.”
“But Dad, what about the cabin? There could be things there that lead back to us. Pictures or, I don’t know?”
“There’s nothing Liam. Holden’s dead. Laura’s dead and your mother is dead. Good riddance. It sounds like Holden took up her ‘art’. He was destined to get caught.”
“That’s all you have to say? Laura and Holden were your children too.”
“I let them go a long time ago and you should have too.”
“Don’t you care at all?”
“No. Your Mother was bat shit crazy. Love made me do stupid things for that woman. Move that damned mountain to commune with nature. Live off grid to aid her art. I gave her enough years. I have nothing left for her-not even curiosity.”
“But Holden, Laura?” I say. “I couldn’t care for an infant on my own and Holden was too far gone by then. I could however, save you. Are you not grateful for that?” Save me. The words sound sincere rolling off his tongue but saving me from Ma and my siblings didn’t spare me his abuse. I cannot say this however.
“Of course I am. I just…”
“Don’t over think it Liam and don’t tell anyone about this article. Understood?”
“Yes Sir,” I answer.
“Good,” he says while lifting his glass to his mouth. I watch the amber liquid slosh back and forth and yearn for a glass of my own. The first time I’ve heard of, or seen my brother since we left was in a magazine for being a psychopath and my father wants to simply sweep it under the rug with no explanation. It baffles me and irritates me simultaneously. I say nothing to my father because is not the kind of man you push.

Review:

5* read.

First things first I love this cover, its unique and eyecatching and makes you want to pick this book up. Next I love this author, her unique writing style and beautful stories always make for an addictive read. I will keep my review pretty vague so as to avoid spoilers.

This is book 2 in the Preston brother's series, A More Than series spin-off but can be read as a standalone although you will understand and get more from this book if you read More Than forever (Lucy's book) and Lucas (Lucas' book) first before reading this one.

I have been waiting for Logan's story for what seems like forever. Logan's story is raw, gritty and emotional. Its not a easy book to read in that you feel every single emotion and your heart breaks with them, but yet your still addicted. You can't put it down till you find out whats happening next. Its a hard review to write because even now my emotions are all over the place. The feeling of wtf did I just read will stay with you awhile, in a good way.

If your wanting a sweet romance then this is definatly not the book for you, but if you want some brilliant writing and happen to not mind having your emotions dragged through this book then give it a read. You will be left with a massive book hangover, but it'll be so worth it.
