Eulogy by Rachel Van Dyken Publication Date: February 20th, 2018 Genre: Contemporary Romance
Eulogy_eBook_HiRes
All is lost.
All. I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore. My thoughts are filled with hatred and dripping with rage. I've lost my soul. She took it to the depths of Hell with her and haunts me with images of what could have been. Sixty lives are mine to take. Sixty lives stand in the way of my vengeance. Sixty lives plus one more. Mine. When the last drop of blood falls — mine will be spilled. Only one person stands in the way. She doesn't realize I'll kill her too. I don't own a heart. And even if I did — I wouldn't fall prey to its lies again. I am Chase Abandonato. Heir to a legacy of betrayal. And I will kill them all. Even if it means pointing the gun at myself. A life for a life. A soul for a soul.
Now I lay me down to sleep… I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Blood in. No out.
Eulogy-AN
Excerpt:
BLOOD. BLOOD. BLOOD. It covered my hands. It surged through my heart. It dripped from my fingertips onto the concrete floor. Trapped. Broken. Finished. Hungry. Insanity scratched its way into my psyche as I eyed the door and waited. One heartbeat, two heartbeats, three… It opened. I fired two rounds, and acrid smoke filled the air. I thought I knew what love was. I was a fucking idiot. Every single bone in my body shuddered with rage, with the need to rip something apart, someone, anyone —all of them. My friends. My brothers. I brought the war to our house, and they would finish me because of it. I’d thought I loved her. Our love had been a lie. Her betrayal my only truth. And now? Now, I finally knew what love was. I’d seen it, smelled it, tasted it. And lost it. I’d fucking lost it. They would pay. They would all pay. For taking her. For turning her against me. For making me believe that blood was everything, only after mine was spilled.

REVIEW:
5 massive star read.
So firstly this is a standalone book that is part of a series. If your wanting to read the series start at the beginning as other books will contain spoilers from previous books, especially this one.
So, I don't even know where to start with this author or this series. I'm just completly blown away, and in love with everything. Rachel always taps into my dark side and makes me love the twisted tales in this series.
Chase was just everything in this book to me. From book one he's been one of my favourite characters, the funny yet dark one. But from the start of this book that funny Chase has gone and we're left with this very very dark character who is really struggling due to circumstances in the last book which I won't mention incase you haven't got that far yet. The raw emotion that this author was able to portray with Chase was spellbinding, I felt every bit of his pain and felt every emotion he went through.
Luc was and unusual character to be added into this series due to the fact she was nothing like everyone else. Shes very timid, very quiet, and I would even go as far as to say scared of her own shadow. At first I did find myself thinking would I like this character, how will she fit in. But it didn't take me long to realize that Rachel had yet again come up with a brilliant character. She was the perfect fit in her own quirky way and watching her and Chase was both beautiful and sad. Luc was a character that I fell in love with along with Chase when I never expected to connect to her as much as I did. Chase, well I've always loved Chase through all the books so this was definatly one of my favourites in this series.
I can't wait for more, I need more from this author like right now. I wish I could go back and read it all from the start again so I can feel every emotion for the first time all over again. This is a must read and if you've never read this series what are you waiting for? Go back to the start and be prepared to fall in love with these dark, dangerous characters who will keep you entrapped through every book.

#1 Rival, an all new standalone friends to lovers, Romantic Comedy by T. Gephart is NOW LIVE!

Synopsis

Lauren Harper wanted four things.
Respect.
Success.
Happiness.
And to annihilate Roman Pierce.
Sure, he was a smooth, smart and sexy attorney who made the senior partners at their law firm cream their pants. But he was also an annoying cocky jerk who she’d been competing with since they had both been hired over a year ago.
And Lauren didn’t care how amazing his smile was or how hot his body was underneath that suit—the firm-sponsored fun run had a lot to answer for—he was a ruthless, ambitious prick who would stop at nothing to climb the corporate ladder. He’d even climb over her given half the chance. Sadly, she’d probably enjoy that.
No.
That wasn’t what she was supposed to be thinking.
She did not want him climbing over or under her, or doing anything else to her.
He was the enemy. Destroying him was the only option.
Wiping that smug, beautiful grin off his gorgeous, obnoxious face, a bonus.
Now, if she could just keep her objective in check and obliterate him before he did the same to her.

Review:

5* read.

This is the third book in this series of standalones. Although you dont need to read #1 Crush or #1 Player I'd highly recommend them as there just as good as this book and well worth a read.

What I love about this series is how funny and witty it is with a great story to it to. You fall in love with all the characters and really invest in their stories.

This is Roman and Lauren's story. Both are lawyers who work together and compete against each other alot. They have this hatred for each other at first and boy do I love a good love hate romance. The chemistry and banter between the two of them was laugh out loud funny. Roman is a character you kind of love to hate. He's arrogant and a bit of a a***hole but you cant help but love him. And Lauren was a great fiery match for him. I just loved their dynamic.

Another great book by this author, I can't wait for more more more.

About T. Gephart

T Gephart is an indie author from Melbourne, Australia.
T’s approach to life has been somewhat unconventional. Rather than going to University, she jumped on a plane to Los Angeles, USA in search of adventure. While this first trip left her somewhat underwhelmed and largely depleted of funds it fueled her appetite for travel and life experience.
With a rather eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history, T struggled to find her niche in the world.
While on a subsequent trip the United States in 1999, T met and married her husband. Their whirlwind courtship and interesting impromptu convenience store wedding set the tone for their life together, which is anything but ordinary. They have lived in Louisiana, Guam and Australia and have travelled extensively throughout the US. T has two beautiful young children and one four legged child, Woodley the wonder dog.
An avid reader, T became increasingly frustrated by the lack of strong female characters in the books she was reading. She wanted to read about a woman she could identify with, someone strong, independent and confident who didn’t lack femininity. Out of this need, she decided to pen her first book, A Twist of Fate. She enjoyed the process so much that when it was over she couldn’t let it go.
T loves to travel, laugh and surround herself with colourful characters. This inevitably spills into her writing and makes for an interesting journey – she is well and truly enjoying the ride!
Based on her life experiences, T has plenty of material for her books and has a wealth of ideas to keep you all enthralled.

Title: Caution on Ice
Series: Boys of Winter #4
Author: S.R. Grey
Genre: Sports Romance/Romantic Comedy
Release Date: February 12, 2018
Dylan Culderway is more than hockey’s top defenseman. He’s the kind of guy who’s always there to help a friend. Plus, he’s a true gentleman. More importantly, certainly to the ladies, is that Dylan is hot enough to melt ice.
Dylan’s no womanizer, though. He doesn’t have time for love. Seems he’s too busy running away from his past.
Or is he running to his past?
When Dylan meets Chloe Tettersaw, the pretty new girl in town, everything changes. A relationship and love are no longer off the table. But it’s not all smooth sailing. When a mysterious stalker makes Chloe’s life a living hell the couple find themselves, and their burgeoning love, tested.
Little does Dylan know this may be his chance to rewrite history . . . and maybe this time he can make things right.
The past and present are about to collide for Dylan and Chloe.
Are they ready?
Can it heal their damaged souls?
Or will it tear them apart?
Caution on Ice is the fourth standalone novel in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.

 4.5* read.
I do love this authors work, and this was another great read and addition to this series. This is the forth book in this series but can be read as a standalone.
The first three books in this series I would class as different to this one, they were more what I would say as the rom-com genre. This one had a lot more emotion to it, really deep rooted issues and a heartbreaking read in places.
Dylan and Chloe are characters you instanley connect to and invest in both of their characters and their story. If you have read the other books in this series you would know that we have seen a few glimpses of Dylan and previous books and so I was really excited when I finally got his book. Chloe was a great strong character who even though shes been having a tough time, she hasn't let that get her down. The chemistry and connection between the two of them was electric and made for a great read.
I'm looking forward to the next book.

I roll my head to the right to discover Dylan is indeed heading this way.
Eek! All my head-rolling and chin jerking, not to mention the puck bunny comment, have probably come off as mating signals, because here…he…comes.
No, I’m all sweaty and gross. This is not the time to meet a hot hockey player.
I grab Graham’s arm and plead, “Save me?”
“Ha,” he replies, vengeful and smug. “Not a chance. You’re on your own, Miss K-Y.”
He starts walking away and I call out, “I thought you weren’t still mad about that? You said yourself it was over twelve years ago.”
Too late, Graham’s retreated to the neutral zone—the men’s locker room.
And the hockey player is closing in.
I turn to face him, flipping my ponytail and flashing my most winning smile.
“Hi,” I breathe out, adding in a cute wave for good measure.
But it’s all for naught—gorgeous Dylan walks right by me like I’m not even there.
I realize then he was on his way to the locker room the whole time. He wasn’t coming over to meet me, not at all.
I’m mortified. I’ve just made the biggest fool of myself.
And then it gets worse—he turns back around like it just dawned on him I said something.
“Did you just say hi to me?” he asks from a few feet away.
He’s so mesmerizingly handsome that all I can do is murmur, “Uh-huh.”
His eyes, a rich complex brown, scan me from head to toe. So I go ahead and do the same to him. Now that he’s closer it’s clear he has a really cool tattoo that starts at his left bicep and continues up to his muscular shoulder. From there, it disappears around to his back. Though I can’t see the whole thing, I can tell it’s a dragon.
Hmm, a symbol of strength, I think to myself. A strong friend would be good to have.
And how very timely, seeing as the next step in the X Your Ex program is “Make a New Friend.”
Too bad it’s not “Have a Night of Wild Sex with a Hot Dude.” I could get on board with that one. But then again, maybe not since that’s not really me.
“So friends it is,” I mumble under my breath.
“What’s that?” he says. “I couldn’t hear you.”
Suddenly, I realize I have seen him before—on the big-ass TV Graham bought me. He is a hockey player, and a really good one at that. Graham wasn’t messing with me. It’s just taken me a few minutes to place the name and put it with the face.
And, oh, what a face…
Back to Graham, I feel bad now. Sighing, I say, “Jeez, maybe I shouldn’t have brought up the K-Y.”
Uh-oh, I just said that a little too loudly. Dylan heard, for sure. The smirk on his face leaves no doubt.
Oh, great. Now he’s going to think I’m a nut, a weirdo, and a pervert, all rolled into one. I’m really batting a thousand here.
“K-Y?” He raises a brow. “Should I even ask?”
Chuckling, I reply, “No, probably not. I was just thinking about my brother.”
Oh, crap!
Now he’s eyeing me like I’m some sort of sicko.
Now I’m a nutty weirdo pervert who associates K-Y jelly with her brother.
Ready to melt into the floor, I say, “Can we just start this whole conversation over?”
“Sure,” he says, laughing and sticking out his hand. “Hi, I’m Dylan.”
I shake his hand and reply, “Hey, Dylan. I’m Chloe, Chloe Tettersaw.”

EXCERPT

The sign Ox was painting in the alley would hang over the 7th Avenue door. It simply read INK. INK. What else could they call it? Books and tattoos. Tattoos and books. Ink. They were doing this, and Emmie asked herself every morning if she was making a horrible, awful mistake. “It’s not too late to call it off,” Daisy said. “Then you can find a nice children’s retailer to work with while I convince Ox that the two of you are meant for each other.” Daisy had hopped on the INK train and immediately hopped off when Emmie had told her about Ox’s condition. “Don’t be ridiculous and keep your voice down,” Emmie said. The shop was finally clean, the shelves were empty with all salvable stock boxed and organized, and Emmie was standing on a ladder, starting the new coat of vanilla cream paint that would set off the dark oak bookshelves and the counters that Ethan and his dad had ordered. “You and Ox would be great together,” Daisy hissed, glancing toward the back hallway that led to the alley. “I was thinking about setting you up. I was just waiting for him to break up with Ginger.” “You are full of it. He may be hot, but I am the opposite of his type.” Emmie started the paint and immediately let out a happy sigh. Everything was better with fresh paint. “He is a twenty-eight year old man,” Daisy said. “Trust me, he doesn’t know what type is good for him.” “Good for him? What about me?” “Trust me. That man would be very good for you. Or parts of you, at least.” Emmie rolled her eyes. “We are starting a business together. Not getting involved was a smart condition, and I agreed immediately because I am a grown up and business is more important than my hormones.” “And then you died a little inside,” Daisy said sadly. “Because you will linger alone, a poor village girl, slave to her virtue, never having felt the fire of passion in your too-short life.” Emmie laughed so hard she snorted and almost smudged the woodwork. “Have you been watching telenovelas in the kitchen again?” “I swear, Eddie works faster when they’re on in the background,” Daisy said. “I think I’m absorbing them subconsciously.”
