And she certainly doesn’t anticipate that when he finally walks back through her door that he’ll have no memory of her, himself, or their time together… When Mason is pulled out of an operation gone bad, all he knows is what he’s told — that he was a covert agent, that he has information vital to national security somewhere in his head, and that they can tell him no more for fear of burying those hard-fought secrets even further. They tell him nothing else; not even that the beautiful woman who makes his heart beat faster is not just his partner, but also his wife. The secret she must keep wrecks Denise, who wants only to return to Mason’s arms. But despite the desire that still burns hot between them, she can’t tell him who she is—or that she’s carrying his child. Review:
4* read.
This is book 2 in this series and I would advise to read the first book first to better understand the background to the Knight brother but it can be read as a standalone.
This is Parker and Emily's story and straight away you see their immediate attraction to each other. I did feel that it certain places it was a bit fast and predictable so therefore I lost some of that character connection, but overall I enjoyed it. I liked them as a couple and enjoyed seeing their relationship grow. And also Emily's a baker so whats not to love about that.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the brother's stories.

Excerpt:

“I like the dreamy look on your face.” “It isn’t often I’m thrown into a good memory of my mom,” he admitted. More often than not he thought about the bitter ones of his dad and his lack of attention, his many wives, and losing the one parent who loved him unconditionally. “Do you know the key ingredient that differentiates a Snickerdoodle from a sugar cookie?” she asked. He shook his head. “Can’t say that I do.” That memory escaped him. “Cream of Tartar. It’s a leavening agent that gives the cookie its signature tangy flavor and chewy texture.” “She made them every Christmas,” he said, hearing his own wistful tone. “We left them out for Santa.” Emily smiled at his memory. “I’ll make them for you one day if –“ She shook her head. If you’re still here went unsaid. “Can I take this to mean you’re not mad at me anymore?” he asked, leaning in on one arm. She poured the brownie mix into the pan and sighed. “I was never mad at you. At first I was just scared to death. Then I was frustrated with dad and the situation. You being here, supporting his dream doesn’t help. But I’m not angry at you.” The heaviness in his chest eased. But he was going to throw her an even more difficult question. He wasn’t sure if he expected an answer and given he didn’t know if he could answer in return, it wasn’t exactly fair. “Okay then, good. What about before we came back? Are you still running from what we felt?” She’d stuck a chocolate covered finger into her mouth and at the question, her eyes opened wide. The question had been bad timing on his part because his dick hardened at the sight of that finger in her mouth. He wanted her lips wrapped around his cock. But, they had important things to discuss. “Running?” she asked on a squeak. He pushed himself to standing and strode around the island, coming up to her and pushing her back against the counter. “Running,” he confirmed. “Not physically but emotionally.” “I can’t let myself get too attached to you, Parker. You’re leaving. Sooner not later. Just because we don’t discuss it doesn’t make it not true. I need to protect myself.” Her words sliced through him because they were true. Because he hated them. Because she was right and he didn’t want her to be. So he did the only thing he could do in the moment. “But we have now.”

Synopsis:

It was easy to fall in love with a Larsson—seriously who could resist any one of those boys? And while each them had taken turns featuring as Maya’s adolescent crush, there was only one of them who had been her best friend. Alex Larsson. She’d loved him the most, convinced they’d be friends forever. Which might have happened if Maya’s father hadn’t been a shady criminal with a mistress on the side. Banished from L.A. meant leaving her old life behind, forgetting those perfect Larsson boys and her best friend. And forget about all of them she did. Well, up until her fancy law degree landed her an awesome job back in the city she’d once called home. And boy was she glad to be home. Oh, and her old BFF? Not only had Alex Larsson gotten a fancy law degree of his own, but he’d turned into the hottest man she’d ever seen. And what she wanted now couldn’t be further from friendship if she tried. Did she risk tainting the memory of the purest, most amazing relationship of her life for the “possibility” of more? Yeah, some things are worth the risk. And Alex Larsson, was one of them.

Review:

5* read.

This is a bitter sweet review for me to write as this is the end of this amazing series. No more Larsson boys for me to fall in love with, and although it was a perfect book for a perfect ending I'm still gutted that there'll be no more in this series. I'm a massive fan of T Gephart's work so I will still be reading all her future books looking for my next book boyfriend.

Alex and Maya were best friends growing up but when Maya has to move, because of her father, they don't see each other again. That is until she moves back after 10 years and decides (due to some medelling) that she should phone Alex up. When they first meet up again after all those years, straight away you can feel the sexual chemistry between the two of them. Even though growing up it was Alex's brothers that Maya had crushes on so she's never really seen him this way till now when her eyes are opened. I loved the light hearted nature of their relationship sometimes aswell as the added drama and banter of the two of them together. I also loved seeing the glimpses of his brothers and their partners and been able to still enjoy them aswell. I basically just loved these characters.

Sometimes when it's a last book in a series it can end up been quite flat, rushed, or just not as good as the others, but I'm so glad that this author lived up to her great work and produced another addictive read. A great end to a great series of books, I can't wait to see what brilliance I get to read next.

And the priests are no ordinary priests. They are the Brethren, a secret sect who believe themselves on a divine mission to seek out evil in the boys in their care. Seek it out, and then drive it out.

The seven have fallen from God’s grace. And the Brethren will cleanse their blackened souls…

Review:

5* read.
Tillie is one of those authors who I never know what to expect in her books except that I know I'll be going on a great journey full of drama and angst mixed in with the darkness that I love. She always knows how to call to my dark side. Theres only a few certain authors who I know can do the dark genre well and Tillie is one of them. It also helps that she's from the North East of England like me and I do like to support a fellow North Queen.
The Fallen: Genesis is a prequel novella in The Deadly Virtues Series and MUST be read before RAPHAEL. Usually prequels aren't that a great read for me. I'll read them if I have to so I can enjoy the series and know whats going on, but sometimes I just find them a bit pointless. That was certainly not the case for this book though. It may be a prequel but it was addictive as if it was the full length novel.
Please note though that as she says in the blurb this is a Dark Contemporary Romance and the subject matter will be hard for some readers and it was also have certain triggers for some people. For me it was hard to read at times but thats what I expect from a dark book, its not a easy read it can tear you apart but thats the pure beauty of it and what makes this author so great.
I cant wait to see what happens next. This was a great prequel to what I know is going to be another great read. I'm really looking forward to what happens next.

Joseph watched helplessly as James moved from his place against the far wall toward a boy on a chair on the opposite side of the room. A boy who had slim knives embedded in his arms and legs—a human pin cushion.

Joseph shivered as he recalled his brother’s expression a moment ago as he’d sat and stared at the knives he had sliced into the boy’s flesh. James, the sadistic voyeur of his own work. Joseph’s nervous eyes landed on his brother’s target. The boy was bound with ropes, and a washcloth was stuffed into his mouth, silencing his cries.

Luke.

Fear flooded Joseph’s body. Luke, the boy who had been intent on bullying James since the age of eight. The boy who would spit at James’s feet when they walked by. The boy who call him weird, a goth, a psychopath who rarely spoke. His taunts were endless. Joseph didn’t think the verbal bullets had ever hit their target . . . until he’d found a pad of paper hidden underneath James’s bed. A pad of paper showing in graphic detail what James wanted to do to Luke.

Tie him up.

Cut his flesh.

Exsanguinate his body.

Then drink the blood down.

“They’re just fantasy, right?” Joseph asked James when he returned from detention. Joseph held up the drawings. Page after page of pain and despair and cruelty.

James walked slowly to Joseph and ran his hand down the open page of the pad, delicately running his fingertip over the pencil image of Luke’s slit throat. “It’s a promise,” James said, with no shame in his voice. “Each page is what will happen to Luke.” James finally met his older brother’s eyes. “I’m just waiting for the perfect time.”

From that day on Joseph made sure Luke never got too close to James, for fear of what his younger brother would do. Because Joseph believed every word his brother had said.

The truth was, Joseph knew that someday, if he wasn’t stopped, James would do something so terrible he wouldn’t be able to come back from it.

And Joseph had no idea how to cure James. He didn’t know how to heal his little brother of the wretchedness that had lodged itself into his soul. He prayed for a miracle he knew would never come.

Joseph’s heart pounded as James held up another knife. His brother’s torso was bare, the scars from his frequent self-mutilation clear to see, white roads of flesh mapping the veins that ran under his skin. Veins that carried the blood James so desperately craved; nightly, once safe in their room, he would slice them open and lick the falling drops as they ran in crimson rivulets down his arms.

Joseph thrashed on the bed, fighting the binds James must have placed him in while he slept. “James, listen to me,” Joseph said as he helplessly watched his brother slowly push his blade into Luke’s shoulder. Luke’s chair almost fell as he screamed into the washcloth, the fabric absorbing his cry. But James didn’t even flinch. Joseph’s stomach clenched when the blood started to pour from Luke’s shoulder as James carefully extracted the blade.

Eleven. That’s all James was. Eleven years old, yet thought only of blood . . . worse, even . . . thought only about the consumption of blood.

-> EXCERPT

“I’m sorry he did this. I was just trying to help.” She sets the ice gently on my collarbone, watching her hand as she does. “Toby and Rey were arguing because of me, and I just wanted to stop them.”

“Why?”

She glances at me before returning her focus to the ice. “You’re a band. You’re supposed to work together. I didn’t like seeing the divide and knowing I was to blame.”

“Not why did you try and stop them,” I explain. “I meant why were they arguing over you?”

“I think Rey’s just having a bad day, right?”

“You didn’t answer my question.”

She huffs a breath, fidgeting with the ice unnecessarily. I set my hand over hers and still it.

“I walked onstage at the wrong time,” she confesses, eyes down. “You could have cut the tension with a knife, and given Emery and Toby were ignoring Rey, I guess I was an easy target for his frustration.”

“He was an asshole to you?” Fucking diva knows no limits.

“I didn’t know how to handle him.” She flexes her hand beneath mine.

I realize how hard I hold it and pull away. “You’re not the only one.” My head hits the back of the seat as I let out a loaded sigh. “He’s got… issues that mean he can’t get a grip on his frustration.”

“Why is he so pissed off?” Henley relaxes onto her heels, twisting the ice pack to keep the contact cold. “The tour has been a hit so far.”

“At face value.” I glance her way, rolling my head on the seat.

My hair slides into my face. She gently brushes the strands aside, then frowns when I jerk away from her touch.

“Sorry.”

“Just don’t.” I close my eyes and focus on the chill of the ice pack.

“I really am sorry—”

“I said, stop.” She’s so nice, so genuine. I could have fallen for this so easily.

“Would you like me to leave?”

I pin her with a hard stare and swallow hard. “I want you to tell me why you’re really here; on this tour.”

“Because this is what I want to do.” Her brow twitches into a frown, her hand as unsettled while she seemingly tries to pull away yet also keep the ice in place.

“Is that all?”

Henley sucks in a deep breath before answering on an exhale. “Yes.”

I shake my head, knocking her hand out of the way to take charge of the ice.

“What? What have I done?”

“It’s more what you will do.” I’ve got enough bullshit to contend with without worrying about how her groupie ass will derail this tour. “I can’t believe you’re playing innocent.” I should have known the minute she rocked up looking like one of the fucking paying customers.

Henley rises to her feet. Her throat bobs as she seemingly composes herself. “Less than a day with you and I already understand one thing.”

“Enlighten me,” I snide.

“You’re so much better when you don’t talk.”

Like she’d fucking know.

About COLDHEARTED BOSS

I’m desperate and destitute when Lockwood Construction rolls into my small town with an offer too good to pass up: high wages to any able-bodied man willing to join their crew.
Say no more. I throw on baggy clothes, tuck my long hair under a baseball hat, and apply for a job. Unfortunately, my half-baked idea of disguising myself as a guy is flawed from the beginning. As Shakira says, these hips don’t lie.
Still, I like to think I might have pulled the whole thing off save for one thing:
I know my boss.
Last month, we met at a bar, and after a fiery first encounter, it seems we’re destined to be sworn enemies.
Ethan Stone is ruthless and arrogant, a man I never would have crossed had I known how much he likes to toy with his prey.
He should just fire me and be done with it. Instead, he decides to make me his personal slave. Oh right, I think they’re calling it personal “assistant” these days.
It’s torture, all of it—his bad attitude, his ruggedly chiseled face, his desire to grind me into dust.
Every one of our friction-filled battles burns hotter than the last.
A girl can only hold out for so long. Soon, I’m bound to go up in flames.
My objective? Survive the heat long enough to send home a paycheck.
My real objective? Stop having X-rated fantasies about my coldhearted boss.

Review:
5* read.
There's nothing better then a good love/hate romance read with the whole second chance element to it aswell. The banter and the sexual chemistry is just something I love. And know one can do a romantic comedy quite like this author. One of my favourite authors to read I'm always so excited for her next book as I know that I'll love it. She always drags me into her book world and makes me never want to leave.
Ethan and Taylor get off to a very rocky start. When they then end up working together and Ethan is her boss it gets even more rocky and more interesting. The banter between the two of them is what makes this such a funny light read. Their slow burn relationshiop was full of chemistry and sexual tension mixed with a side of hate. Such a good combination. Told in dual pov I was glad you got to see both their sides as it helped you connect to them even more and on that deeper level that you sometimes don't get with just one characters voice throughout the book.
This is a must read book, don't even think about it just one click it right now, you won't be disapointed. I have seen a few mixed reviews for this book on goodreads but I suppose you can't be to everyone's taste and for me personally I loved this book and I love this author. I can't wait for the next book and really hope it's not to long of a wait till I can get my next fix from this author.

Review:
4* read.
This is a second chance romance, and a hot short novella length book. A quick read that packs a punch. Sometimes I can struggle with novella length books as I can find it hard to connect to the characters in the shorter amount of time. Luckily that wasn't the case with this book and I loved both the characters and their story.
So this is Ryder and Sierra's story. The blurb pretty much says it all so I'm not going to waste time by retyping what the blurb says so if you want to know what the stories about then read the blurb. As it is a novella there's not alot of time spent on things like building up to a scene, for example the wedding. Your just thrown right in there but thats what made it so good. Sierra I felt so sorry for her on her wedding day, but I knew that her character had to go through that to then be with her true soulmate. Her an Ryder together were smoking hot, they had such a strong chemistry. I also loved how even though it was a short read the characters both had real depth to them and you couldn't help but connect to them.
I can't wait for the next book in this series and to see more from this author.

Excerpt:

Sierra woke up as the car turned off, the motor coming to a stop. She shook her head and looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. Trees were visible outside the windows, and a glittering sign said Paradise Cove, and beneath it, A Couples Only Poconos Resort. “You have got to be kidding me!” She glanced at Ryder in disbelief. “What the hell are we doing in the Poconos?” She’d obviously fallen asleep for a good two hours, the shock of the day along with the glass of champagne she’d had prior to the non-wedding catching up with her. He treated her to his most charming grin. “You always said you wanted to honeymoon here. That it was romantic.” “I was seventeen!” she yelled at him. “I didn’t know any better. And we aren’t on our honeymoon.” She glanced down at her white wedding gown, not missing the irony of the situation but in no mood to find it funny. She and Jason were supposed to be on their way to St. Lucia tomorrow morning. Instead she was in the honeymoon capital of Pennsylvania. Her stomach cramped at the reminder of all she’d left behind earlier today. Although she’d texted Sebastian from Ryder’s phone, she hoped her brothers weren’t too worried about her. She’d left her own phone in the bridal room and couldn’t know whether Jason had tried to reach her or not. But her brothers knew she was with Ryder, and if Jason wanted her, he certainly could contact them and find out how to talk to her. Instead she was in the Poconos with her ex.She looked at the man who’d driven her over one hundred miles from home and waited for an explanation. He placed an arm behind her seat, turning to face her. “By the time I realized how far I’d driven, we were half an hour from here. I couldn’t think of anywhere else to crash. And I wasn’t about to turn around and drive another two hours home.” She frowned at him. “So now what? You expect me to stay here with you?” “Would it really be so bad?” he asked, his voice gentling. “I understand you’re angry with me, but we’re here. It’s late. Let’s just go inside and see if we can get a room.” The very idea of it was crazy. Nothing good could come of her being alone with Ryder now, and she really shouldn’t have left with him. But it was too late to take her actions back now. She blew out a resigned breath. “Fine. But I hope they have a gift shop,” she muttered, needing a change of clothes because nothing about this trip had been thought through. She climbed out of the car and Ryder helped her gather the train and fold it up so she could hold it over one arm. Then together, they walked into the main area of the resort and headed to the reception desk. “I assume you have a reservation?” the woman behind the counter asked, her gaze traveling over Ryder in his suit, Sierra in her white gown. “Umm, no. But we’d like a room for a couple of days,” Ryder said with a smile. “One night,” Sierra countered. He frowned at her and the girl behind the desk looked confused. She typed something into the computer and glanced up at them. “Our honeymoon suite is booked and we only have suites, not rooms, but I’m sure you’ll love what’s available. All of our suites have round king-size beds beneath celestial ceilings, log-burning fireplaces, and heart-shaped tubs or champagne-glass-shaped whirlpool spas.” Sierra felt her mouth drop open at the description. It was everything she’d seen in commercials as a young, love-struck girl dreaming of romance. “I don’t think–” “We’ll take one,” he said, cutting her off. The clerk looked back and forth between them, a definite furrow between her eyebrows. “We can only offer you two nights. I’m sorry but we’re booked after that.” Before she could utter another word, Ryder slid his credit card across the counter. “We’ll stay both nights. And the airline lost our luggage, so do you think you could hook us up with the basics?” he asked. She was grateful he was thinking of everything, even if she was still annoyed with him. Besides, she was beyond uncomfortable in the wedding gown, and Sierra hoped the woman could help them. The clerk’s gaze softened at the mention of missing suitcases. “That’s awful and frustrating. I’ll send up toiletries and amenities,” the woman said. “There are bathrobes in the rooms, and the gift shop and stores open tomorrow morning. You’ll be able to pick up more things to wear then.” “Thank you,” Sierra said, appreciating the woman’s kindness. “We’re grateful for anything you can do,” Ryder said. He slipped a tip across the counter and the clerk glanced down and grinned at him. “Thank you. I’ll call housekeeping right now. In the meantime, here are your key cards. Breakfast and dinner are included. A continental breakfast is served in the room tomorrow. I’ll even throw in some parts of our honeymoon package,” she whispered to Ryder, making Sierra wonder how much money he’d given her. No matter the amount, she had no intention of making use of their specialty package, she thought, exhaustion seeping into her bones despite her long nap. The day had been overwhelming and was definitely catching up with her. She unwittingly sagged against him, and his arm immediately came out, wrapping around her, holding her for the first time in forever. It took all her willpower not to lean her head against him and let him take over. “Come on, sweetheart. You look dead on your feet,” Ryder said, and taking her by surprise, he swept her into his arms. Just like a real bride.
