REVIEW
I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
3.5* read.
I don't know really where to start with this review. I really struggled coming up with star rating as it was a mixed book for me some parts I enjoyed, others i didn't like at all. It was actually Haleigh i had more of a problem with as i couldn't connect with her and found her weak and annoying especially for the first half of the book. I did like Maxim though and his strong alpha side and how he was with Haleigh boosted the book for me. I did find myself wanting to keep reading and see where their story went to even though I felt myself shouting in places.
A pact book full of angst drama and emotion. Like I say it has promise as a story but for me it wasn't completely their and lacked in places although i did enjoy some parts and would read this authors work again too.

REVIEW

I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
4.5* read.
When I picked this book up I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. I instantly fell in love with both Jake and Ella and how their relationship developed. From first meeting they had this insane chemistry that made me excited to see where their story went. Ella's a piano player whose taking part in a competition, and Jake's a newly appointed head chef. Both have their own stresses in life but they find something in the other that calms and makes them happy. I think Ella was the one who changed most throughout the book and as a reader it was lovely to see that. Together her and Jake were on fire and it made for some really hot scenes. I can't wait for more from this author.

This was a new author for me so i was looking forward to reading it. I don't want to give to much away of the story but Elena has always had a crush on Lennox and when something happens and they are apart for a few years what will happen when he's back and she's dating someone else.

Lennox and Elena were really complicated at times but you could always feel their chemistry and the struggles they both faced. There is some dark times in the book but it kept you gripped till the end and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Synopsis

Sometimes two broken pieces make a whole.

He’s the one she’s always loved.

She’s the one he could never have.

A forbidden night of passion resulted in years of heartbreak when he walked away. Now she’s in danger and needs his help.

Trust doesn’t come easy for FBI Agent Nick Stone, especially when it comes to love, but he’ll risk it all for Katelyn Slade.

Including his heart.

Bullets fly, betrayals are exposed, and the flames from their past ignite.

His protection might be what saves her but in the end she will be his salvation.

This is Book two in the Acts Of Honor series, the spin-off series to Men Of Honor. It’s Nick and Katelyn’s story and is told in dual POV, has an HEA with no cliffhanger and it can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend that you read the Men Of Honor series prior, as characters play recurring roles in both series.

Excerpt

He begins moving inside of me with slow, exquisite strokes, his eyes never leaving mine. He looks at me in a way I’ve longed to have someone look at me my whole life. Like I matter, like I’m important…like I am more. When it’s time for him to go back this is what I’ll remember. This is what I’ll keep close to me on the nights I ache for him, to remember that someone looked at me like this once. Even if I don’t get it for a lifetime, it’s better than not getting it at all.

Just like the man himself.

Reaching up, I cup his strong, stubbly jaw. He encircles my wrist and kisses the inside of it, right over my tattoo.

No words needed.

As more tears begin to fall he leans down and catches them with his lips. “Feel me, Kate. Feel nothing but me.”

“I do. You’re all I feel.”

“Just us,” he whispers.

“Just us.”

5* read.
Katelyn and Nick were a unusual but strong couple. Nick was best friends with Katelyn brother growing up and one night Katelyn and Nick end up crossing a boundary and Nick ends up leaving and breaking her heart. Years later Katelyn needs help and turns to Nick as hes the only one she trusts. After all these years will they have another chance at romance or is their past and present to much to get past? You'll have to read it to find out. I immediately felt a connection with the characters and fell in love with their story and journey they go on.
An addictive read full of angst and drama and one great rollercoaster of a journey.

REVIEW
I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
4.5* read.
Sarah and Lynx start as a one night thing both having their own rules of never sleeping in the same bed and no repeats. They decide to change the rules though and come up with a friends with benefits type of arrangement. They both have stuff in their pasts that's affecting them in the present, both having nightmares and not letting anyone in because of it. I loved their journey and seeing how they developed not only together but seperatly in themselves too. It was an emotional read at times and my heart broke for what they've both went through and the author wrote this in such a beautiful way that as a reader I was also able to connect with them. I can't wait for this author's next book.
