November Sky by Marleen Reichenberg, Gerald Chapple (Translation)

BLURB
After a humiliating deception that she believed had left her permanently scarred, Laura thought she’d never love again. She’d finally come to terms with her quiet, predictable life—that is, until she meets charismatic actor Nick, who rekindles her faith in men.

Despite initial doubts, Laura begins to let Nick in. But as she learns to trust again, she’s surprised to find that he’s not always the cheerful, confident man he appears to be when the cameras are rolling. Soon Nick’s violent downswings begin to push the limits of her endurance, and Laura must find the strength to help him understand his own dark past. But can she save him—without losing herself?

REVIEW
I received a ARC from  Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars.
Marleen Reichenberg first wrote this book in German in 2014 and it was translated to english by Gerald Chapple.
this is not your typical romance read it was dark gritty and heartbreaking in places. the book starts with Laura whose avoided relationships due to still been traumatized from a guy when she was a teen, but then she meets actor Nick  and gradually lets him in.  Unbeknownst to Laura though Nick has a few big secrets he's keeping and they do start to show.

the first few chapters I struggled with as it was quite slow and didn't really grab my attention. I also didn't like the insta-love thing but apart from that it was a enjoyable emotional read that tore your heart in places.
