Vintage Roots The Organic Wine People

The other day I was sent some wine to review from http://www.vintageroots.co.uk/. They are the UK's leading organic wine specialist, who delivers certified organic wines direct to homes and businesses nationwide. They also stock certified organic wines specifically for vegetarians, and for vegans, and their offerings include biodynamic, Fair-trade and low sulphite options.

I absolutely love sparkling wine so I was so excited when I was sent some to review. I was sent IGT Veneto Prosseco Frizzante Bianco Giol which is a lovely organic sparkling wine. It was really quickly delivered too; it came within a day and was really well wrapped and safely delivered in a box which I couldn’t wait to open. I’m like a kid at Christmas whenever I get parcels through the door.

 

Before I actually got to try it I had the task of getting the cork out. I must admit I always struggle with cork bottles and usually end up with half the cork in the bottle. However this time I managed to get the cork out straight away which is a first for me, and all in one piece as you can see from the below picture.

Now was the best bit, actually getting to try the wine. When I first poured it into the glass it was really fizzy, just how I like it, and the smell was a really sweet strong smell. As you can see from the below picture the wine was really pale in colour.

This wine had loads of flavour. The flavour was a mixture of dry and sweet which when combined with the fizz made the perfect mix. I absolutely love sparkling wines but some I’ve tried in the past don’t have much taste. Not this wine, it’s perfect and unlike some wines it doesn’t leave a really strong aftertaste which is even better. I also gave a glass to my mam to try who’s not a really big wine drinker but even she loved it and said the mix of flavours worked really well together. This is a very affordable bubbly that delivers plenty for the price, the perfect wine for me.
